Heels/wedges for every day

I want to wear heels, I really do but find it really hard to still look quite casual - I'm a personal trainer so def no opportunity for heel wearing at work. I just want to feel a bit more glam somehow. I have lots of gorgeous boots and shoes that are the full on high heel end of the spectrum but am trying to work out how to rock a high heel in the day, something wearable, that doesn't prevent me legging it after a wayward toddler or cripple me when one of the kids suddenly decides they are entirely incapable of walking anywhere unless it's in pursuit of a chocolate button obviously. Anyway, my usual get up is skinnies, leggings or dresses. Occasional denim mini. I'm not totally unfortunate looking or a complete dag. Passable. Slim of build and no cankles.

Am thinking a wearable shoe boot for leggings, plaques and dresses? Clarks yarra boot for skinnies?

Anyone?

i've just got these admittidly, i was swung by them being reduced in some colours to £33! all my other shoes/boots are flat, the heels not too high, can walk in them ok, have them on with dress/leggings combo today. they are a very narrow shoe though, work for me as i have very narrow feet!

Hmmmmm. Nice but not the ones for me. Maybe I am destined live in biker boots in winter. summer is easy as wedges espradilles/clogs etc are fine fir trotting after little people. I'll just wear my slut shoes on rare evenings out.

i wear heels daily, i do work full time but have a 4 and half year old and a 17 month old to chase after on school run etc.
when you first start wearing them you feel a bit clumsy and self conscious but you soon become used to them.
so i would say skinny jeans you can get away with a higher shoe more glam, and with opaques and a mini i would go for the chunkier shoes in your collection so as not to look too overdone. it will soon become second nature and others will be amazed at your ability to wear heels each day and look after the dc.

Am thinking it's a case of practice then! I'm not a fly shoe fan, I know they're a mumsnet fave but just not for me.
