Where do people buy their ballet flats?

Have been looking for something but grudge paying lots of cash for something that seems so small! Must be leather as well. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I know lots of people don't like Next, but it is the only place I have found comfortable leather ballet flats (and I have many pairs from other places that have had one wearing and banished to the back of the cupboard as they hurt my feet!!). I got a black pair and a pale lavender pair last year and they were so comfortable, they were like slippers! I am hoping they will be doing similar ones this year. They cost about £25-30 which I don't mind paying as they were very comfortable.

onimolap · 12/02/2011 14:32

I've got a posh pair from French Sole, and equally nice ones from Office at a fraction of the price.

BelligerentGhoul · 12/02/2011 14:55

I get them in Clarks - worth looking out for online offers, as their service is v good and the stores are usually hellish.

Verso · 12/02/2011 14:59

I got some nice cheap inexpensive plain black leather ones from Amazon, of all places!

tulpe · 12/02/2011 15:23

Just bought a very nice plain black pair from Top Shop for £25.

I have a pair from French Sole but I went for the style suitable for wide feet. Big mistake. They have a higher than usual heel on them which makes them look just plain wrong! Stupidly I wore them anyway and have regretted it ever since.

tulpe · 12/02/2011 15:24

I also agree with Lazyem about Next ballet flats. I had a fab pair of tan leather flats from there last year which were very comfy. Until the dog ate them Angry

I also have two pairs of leather (sole & upper) strappy sandals from there which have lasted for 2 years and are still going strong.

thecatatemygymsuit · 12/02/2011 15:25

Love French Sole but they are pricey. Boden children's ones are actually quite nice alternatives if your feet are small enough?

coolkat · 12/02/2011 15:30

Next as reasonable price and they do half sizes.

whoneedssleepanyway · 12/02/2011 16:08

Lk Bennett sale but still pricey or office

JenniL1977 · 12/02/2011 16:14

New Look!
Real leather for £12-£16. Every colour you can think of. I have literally dozens of pairs. They are awesome :)

shopalot · 12/02/2011 16:17

I vote for top shop and gap. Will have a look in new look now though!

bambiandthumper · 12/02/2011 17:03

French Sole

BonjourIvresse · 12/02/2011 17:38

Hush puppies via amazon they often have really good deals

DonaAna · 12/02/2011 18:07

I found several lovely pairs in Zara for about £15 (my favorite: leopard ponyskin ones, but they also do plain black).

polyhymnia · 12/02/2011 18:29

French Sole good, also like some Russell and Bromley, some Hobbs not bad. ditto L K Bennett. Have also successfully got some in that sort of style from Boden. And from Geox.

I have seen this linked here

HelenBa · 13/02/2011 00:23

I got a lovely pair (honest!) from M&S footglove and they are wonderful, I can't stand ballet flats which have zero cushioning and hurt when you walk more than 10 minutes (hello New Look and Debenhams!). I also have some from Clarks but find they rub badly.

CointreauVersial · 13/02/2011 00:28

I have huge trouble finding comfy ballerinas - I have a bit of a bunion thing going on, and a lot of pairs are so low-cut around the toes/front that they rub really badly.

And if they don't rub my old-lady bunions then they rub my heels.

The most comfy pair I have came from (wait for it) Shoe Fair, and were about 12p. But I like the Kate Kanzier link, I'm quite tempted by those prices and styles.

midnightowl · 13/02/2011 05:48

Does anyone else find ballet flats difficult to keep on their feet? I have long, wide feet (a good size 8/8.5) and when I buy them so they fit comfortably they fall off my feet. Any tips or is it just me?

Emo76 · 13/02/2011 07:45

Picked up some pairs of Blochs in the Coggles sale for £40. I like them, though one of them really rubs my heel even with pop socks on. I thought they were meant to be really comfortable. Are there any out there which are comfy without tights/socks?!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 13/02/2011 07:46

Topshop

cairnterrier · 13/02/2011 07:48

Sainsburys have some fab shoes in at the moment, I've got a really comfy pair of flats in black leather with cushioning underneath for £22.

Nospringflower · 13/02/2011 11:06

Thanks very much everyone - will look up some of the places mentioned and see if I can find something.

Like JennyL I usually get mine from New Look. They usually have a huge selection!
