It is rather lovely but £250???...and any of the traditional discount offers don't apply to the range.

Any takers?

I like the cardi - but not for that money.

However Boden makes me laugh - modelled on 20 year old tiny whippersnappers who should by rights be wearing Jack Wills. Seeing that Boden's target market is middle aged portly women that makes me laugh.

AND - if those whippersnapper models look like complete tools in the appliqued flippy skirts shouldn't that say that someone old enough to be the model's mother would look completely ridiculous.

Oh I love a silk cami top under a cardigan or jacket for going out.

Saw a gorgeous one in jigsaw but was just under a £100!

MayorNaze · 11/02/2011 19:20

cheers tracey, will wander over and look :)

i am not averse to the odd lacy/silky cami-vest thing either but that top looks like you just tucked your nightie into your skirt Grin

Panzee · 11/02/2011 19:21

I am very averse to things which are just vests. :o

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/02/2011 19:21

Shit I have just had a look at the clearance stuff - loads of dresses on there that I actually like.

I must be getting old

NancyDrewHadaClue · 11/02/2011 19:22

Cyb I will not!

Totally agree with Getorf. If it looks like shite on the model it not going to look anything other than really really really shite on you.

MayorNaze · 11/02/2011 19:23

boden also do maternity wear GetOrf Wink Wink

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/02/2011 19:23

What do the sizes come up like on Boden?

I am an 8-10 most places. Do I order large or small?

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/02/2011 19:24
Grin

I am NOT looking at maternity clothes.

I run past the baby clothes in supermarkets as it is.

Northernlurker · 11/02/2011 19:26

Re sizing - from reading the reviews I think it depends a bit on the item. It's not a problem I have tbh - I'm a 22 and I order a 22.

Apart from in the Limitedappeal edition because even if I could afford it I won't be ordering any as they've not produced a 22. I'm quite annoyed about that. Why does the size 6 woman get catered for but not the 22?

traceybath · 11/02/2011 19:26

GOML - boden sizing is v generous - think of their target market.

MayorNaze · 11/02/2011 19:26

read reviews for sizing, they help a lot IME

am also 8-10 and mostly veer toward an 8 :)

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/02/2011 19:30

Thanks for that.

There is a load of cheap stuff in the clearance section.

Mind you I just looked at a tunic called 'funky tunic'. I am on strong painkillers at the moment so I don't think I should attack the Boden site with debit card whilst under the influence of narcotics Grin

traceybath · 11/02/2011 19:34

I suspect you are hallucinating - get off the boden site now!

MayorNaze · 11/02/2011 19:35

actually tracey is right - i have this in an 8 and could easily have gone smaller

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/02/2011 19:36

Yes I agree with you - after years of going on that site going 'jesus christ look at that monstrosity' I think it is a bit of an alarming volte face.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 11/02/2011 20:12

Cardigan, cardigan, it's a knitted jacket people! Therefore worth every one of your £250 Hmm

Panzee · 11/02/2011 20:28

GetOrf I've just checked out the clearance section. There's nothing for any of us - step away!

polyhymnia · 11/02/2011 21:16

Northernlurker, like you I'm pleased that I'm not more tempted, but annoyed that they have decided this range will be only for those who are Size 20 or below and not offered to those of us who order 22. Have already complained to Boden about it, but only got a vague response.

Am generally furious today because the sainted Isabella Oliver have decided that all the nicest pieces in their new SS range will stop at size 16/18. Had been looking forward to ordering several of their things, as their 20 is really generous but it seems my custom is not required. I can have a plain T-shirt dress, but not a Breton one, which is what I want !!!

Northernlurker · 11/02/2011 22:26

What did Boden say?

polyhymnia · 11/02/2011 23:43

Here it is :
'I am very sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Having heard from our Womenswear team, I am sorry to tell you that our new Limited Collection only goes up to a size 20, and is only in one length. As this collection is very new it may be that this changes the next time we produce a range like this. Please be assured that I will forward the request to the Womenswear Team, for their serious consideration.

I am terribly sorry to have to disappoint, and if there is anything else I can do for you, please do not hesitate to contact me.'

Pleasantly worded but not very concrete. Of course, if lots of people were to protest, i guess that might focus their minds. But perhaps, having seen the stuff, they won't.

PaisleyLeaf · 11/02/2011 23:48

I had a friend at school who could do something like that model has with her left elbow/arm.
ooooo it used to make me squirm.

SpeedyGonzalez · 11/02/2011 23:57

Horrible cardie. If someone gave it to me I'd sell it on eBay.

kittya · 12/02/2011 09:33

Ive seen more fashion in M and S Limited Edition. Do they think we are fools?? [hmmm] what a load of tosh. I dont know who their market is anymore. This season is dire and, for once, that goes for the children's range as well.

diddl · 12/02/2011 11:10

I think that the cardi/jacket looks awful.

Lol at their blurb "jaws will drop"-yes, that anyone bought it, let alone at that priceGrin
