As the title says!

I don't know what style suits me and need your advice.

Picture is on profile.

Have had a short bob since dd was born 5 years ago and before that had long hair for about 15 years. Hair is very fine and struggles to hold a 'style'. I don't tend to use many products and seem to wash it every other day so I need something that's going to look good with minimal fuss!

I'm 35 - work nearly ft and don't really have much time to get ready in the morning before hitting the school run.

I'm in the process of growing it out - but don't know what to grow it into :o I don't want to grow it if I'm just going to tie it back all the time.

So - please take a look at my profile pic and judge let me know what you think? I am open to all ideas - am contemplating cutting it shorter again - but really don't know Confused

Also - can you tell what colour clothes would suit me from the picture? I don't know if I should wear so much black? What do you think?

Gosh you have lovely, young looking skin. I think your current style makes your face look quite long, have you ever had a fringe?

plasticface · 10/02/2011 16:58

I think you should have a fringe.

piconprofile · 10/02/2011 16:58

I agree - I think I have a long face anyway and the long hair kind of drags my face down which is why I'm having a wobble about growing it again as I feel that I look like a horse!

I have an oily T-zone and when I've had a fringe in the past its just got really oily - I've only had a light fringe though - kind of side swept thing - which I seemed to spend most of the time pushing out of my face!

I wear glasses as well - only for long distance - but that kind of impacts on the type of fringe I could have I think.

A fringe, just skimming your eyelids would look fab

get thee some mattyfying otion /pressed powder so T zone not a problem

you look very young

I hate you

GypsyMoth · 10/02/2011 17:03

i think your windows need cleaning Grin

black, perhaps not so much of it,but ti agree on the fringe and lovely skin!!

TobyLerone · 10/02/2011 17:04

You do look young. Is that your natural hair colour?

I think you need some body in your hair to balance out your long face. Maybe some layers?

piconprofile · 10/02/2011 17:08

:o How very dare you - that's actually a plant outside :o

So - I could go with a fringe - but what about the length? Grow it longer?

OP posts:
piconprofile · 10/02/2011 17:37

Hair colour isn't completely natural - but is pretty close to my natural colour minus the greys.

Whenever I've had layers in my hair they've made my hair feel a lot thinner iyswim - my hair just drops when its been styles so the layers then just drop leaving less body then there was to begin with.

Thank you for your lovely compliments about the youngness Blush - am feel old and haggard today so you've given me a confidence boost.

Would a Babyliss Big Hair thingy add more volume to your style, I have never used one but seem them raved about on MN - someone on here will know if it'll help.

DukesOfTripHazard · 10/02/2011 17:46

Get a big fringe. You would look foxy. And go shorter. A bob with some texture.

piconprofile · 10/02/2011 17:49

Have Big Hair which I love - it has given my hair much more body.

So - we have established a fringe is a definitely possibility. Can anyone find any pictures that would suit?

I'd go for a graduated bob, quite short into the nape of your neck, then swinging forwards - this gives the impression of thicker hair and is easy to maintain. I'd also go for a slighter redder tinge to your colour - more coppery brown to lift your skintone a bit. Definitely a swept fringe to go with :)

piconprofile · 10/02/2011 18:17

I've just seen this. What do you think?

Or if I keep the length www.ukhairdressers.com/style/index2.asp?R1=11482 this?]]

Not a fan of the one you just linked to, pic- it looks a bit like legoland hair.

But I'm not really a fan of bobs.

You have my hair!

Don't know if you're hair is as fine though, but if I have a blunt fringe, then there isn't enough to make a fringe and have hair at the sides! Can see my forehead through it type of thing.

I had the style from your original pic and got so many compliments. Had colour put through too and it looked lots thicker.

Specs shouldn't affect your fringe? I would go for a graduated length like this

piconprofile · 11/02/2011 16:53

Yes - I'm not sure I have enough hair to carry off a full blunt fringe. I tried pulling it forward last night to see how it may look :o

What colour did you have put through your hair Morag?

Thanks for the link - I think that style would make my hair look awful as the layers are so short - my hair's in pretty good condition and having too many short layers would take the shine out of it I think.

Am still searching!

Wow! You look exactly like my DD's teacher! Grin

What doesn't suit you is long flowing hippy-type skirts

Sparklywine · 11/02/2011 17:01

"I'd go for a graduated bob, quite short into the nape of your neck, then swinging forwards"
I agree, your slightly shorter hair in the 2nd pic looked great, you just need to get some lift into it which is where the Babyliss comes in. I think you could carry off a really dark bluey black sharp bob with some interesting cutty razory type bits chopped in to it (I am no hairdresser Grin), longer at the front.
That's my contribution, for what it's worth, though I think you are angling for a longer style -good luck!

plasticface · 11/02/2011 17:13

Love the 1st link! Might have to steal it for myself....

FaffTastic · 11/02/2011 17:36

Think your har would look great with a sweeping side fringe. Don't get much of the lenght buy maybe get some long layers cut in to make it choppier with more texture.
