How boring is the Boden children's range this season?

God, the childrens was always so much better than the womens but, it has taken a turn for the worse. My niece lived in their velour bottoms all Winter and they are now looking a bit short in the leg, I thought I would replace them and all I can see are naff towelling ones with big hearts on, I think she would throw them back at me!! Theres only a choice of three jackets and one is exactly the same as the jacket in the Winter range. Its so dull I darent even look at the stuff for us.......

I am not impressed by the boys things either. I ahve a 3 yo boy, and the stuff that is for his age in the boys collection is more suited for boys around 8/9/10 yo I think. Some of the baby things are nice (as he can still fit into them), but thats about it.

maxybrown · 08/02/2011 16:06

I am not impressed with boys section. Baby section quite nice and my 3 year old still fits in those thankfully. I HATE camouflage and sees to b lots of it Hmm

NormanTheForeman · 08/02/2011 16:20

Hardly anything we liked in the boys' section. My 10 year old doesn't even like it. The plain stuff (shorts, trousers etc) are fine, and some nice swimwear, but the tops are mostly really "teenage" which ds doesn't want.

kittya · 08/02/2011 16:40

the girls is no better, there's hardly anything there and the colours are very boring.

For DS I have bought shorts, sweatshirt and a striped T-shirt

For DD just the stripe T-shirt dress

Very disappointing. I have bought most of their recent stuff from John Lewis and am really pleased.

kittya · 08/02/2011 22:11

Im surprised at the lack of choice.

I think we're moving on, Next is better this spring for my girls and I would pay the prices for babywear anyway.

HappyAsIAm · 09/02/2011 09:03

In contrast, I think the Jojo Maman Bebe spring/sumemr range for boys and girls is really nice this year. It goes up to 4-5 (I think)> I have bought a load of stuff for DS (3 yo)including some lovely bright blue and white stripe things.

glovesoflove · 09/02/2011 09:19

I got some gorgeous winter stuff for my baby DD and sent for some summer things that looked cute in the catalogue - the quality was awful, I wouldn't have bought the dungarees at a fifth of the price they were so bad. Baby Gap for us.

CarolinaRua · 09/02/2011 09:46

I bought a dress for my DD but am sending it back. I really think that I could get something just as nice in Primark. I barely look on there any more

carciofi · 09/02/2011 10:06

I usually love it and ordered a lot for my DD from the spring preview but was not impressed and thought it was overpriced. I sent everything back and went to H&M instead.

kittya · 09/02/2011 12:44

Im staying away

Hmm, I thought baby stuff was nice - the tees and shorts but so disappointed in dungarees, really weird fit! I agree JoJo is nice and Gap and H&M though for the boys H&M and Gap have been really DULL. I guess really I fond a mix of things form places - but John Lewis stuff is lovely and cheaper!

maxybrown · 09/02/2011 13:02

I find not fond Hmm seems to be nicer things for girls everywhere, why they think boys have to have logos all over everything or in grey black navy and brown I'll never know Hmm love smafolk and Molo too - think Mr Boden needs to up his anti!

kittya · 09/02/2011 13:19

Time for a revamp but, I suggest starting with the ladies first! Smile

HotchpotchHoney · 09/02/2011 13:44

Luckily my boys dont need too much this summer so the few bits i have brought will be fine.
the girls both need loads (how dare they grow :)) i do like reds and navy's so its just as well. the dresses are pretty shapeless and not nice. fingers crossed that the summer dresses are nicer.
However i have ordered far too many pairs of shorts and t-shirts for the girls as they have some adorable bits. the boat neck stripey tops for the older girls are gorgeous and great for spring with slim fit jeans or crops if slightly warmer.

stayathomegardener · 09/02/2011 13:56

There is a wait for those stripey boat necked tops.DD 11 loving the striped shorts and khaki shorts-sleeping in them as too chilly for outside yet.Cut off denims better fit than Gap but do agree dresses are not inspired especially for her age,she is not taken with the teen range either.

ReturnOfTheBoomBap · 09/02/2011 14:12

Worst range I have ever seen at Boden.

The women's range is absolutely foul.

The kid's range is overpriced tat. I used to love the girl's dresses, but I could honestly buy most of it in Asda this saeason.

Emo76 · 09/02/2011 14:22

Agree the quality is poor for the price - very cheap, thin material used in the baby dress and hat I got for my daughter.

kittya · 09/02/2011 14:47

They usually have a much better range of long sleeved tops and smocks to go over them. Whats with the jackets, theres only 3! Im staying well away from their trousers/jeans the fitting for girls are shockingly small. Thats why I was looking for some more velour pull ons but the affairs with big stars on just would not be acceptable to an older girl.

JoanofArgos · 09/02/2011 14:48

Oh I like it more than I have for a while - must be boring! A lot less brown and yellow paisley shite and some nice stripes, does me fine!

silverfrog · 09/02/2011 14:52

dd2 loves practically the entire girls range.

but then she is 3.

her favourite colour is red, and you can get no further perfection than spotty things although stripes will do at a push.

she would have the entire lot.
