Amazing. I have never ever been able to dry my hair.

It was frizzy and horrid. Now I'm sleek... And ecstatic... Thank you!

Is your hair long? I thought about getting one, but not sure if it would really work on long hair. Perhaps I should stick to heated rollers Hmm

Cristiane · 07/02/2011 10:32

I had just cut it to shoulder length. I wish i hadn't because i think it would work really well on long hair

I've got one of these but my hair has no layers in so I feel like a triangle when I'm done with it :) what am I doing wrong?!

Cristiane · 07/02/2011 11:02

Do you get it to flick your hair out a bit?

OP posts:
crazybutterflylady · 07/02/2011 11:08

No - usually curling it under so I don't look like betty boo :)
I wish I could get it to give me volume in the roots rather than the ends

Parsgirl · 07/02/2011 12:15

I am having a problem with getting body in the roots too. The ends are lovely though!

FreeButtonBee · 07/02/2011 12:18

Use the medium setting; because it doesn't spin so fast, you can get it and keep it closer to the roots. Also do small sections at a time - less hair means you can get to the roots easier.

Alouiseg · 07/02/2011 12:18

Root volume is easier if you dry the roots with a regular dryer first, either tip your head upside down or use a vent brush to lift and blast. Then use the big hair to roll up to the root and hold for a few seconds, unroll gently and pin into place til it sets a bit.

Does that make any sense?

crazybutterflylady · 07/02/2011 12:25

Thanks, I'll try both those suggestions... when I have tried getting it up to the roots I tend to get it tangled Blush

knitknack · 07/02/2011 13:43

My MIL gave me one of these just before my last haircut - I told my hairdresser and she suggested cutting in some more layers because the big hair would give them definition... the difference in my hair is AMAZING! Swishy, defined, not frizzy - I can't believe the difference this thing has made to my hair!!!

Alouiseg · 07/02/2011 14:19

I'm glad you said that KnitKnack, I've been thinking about more layers.

LadySanders · 07/02/2011 14:22

oooh, i've never heard of this, it looks amazing (my hair is thick, layered, mid back length, it sounds like it might be just the thing)

Feelingsensitive · 07/02/2011 14:22

Have any of you got fine hair? I am thinking of asking for one of these but have shoulder length fine blonde hair.ANy thoughts?

MmeLindt · 07/02/2011 14:26

KnickKnack
Thanks, will have to get around to booking that hairdresser's appointment

For root lift, try medium setting, as Aloisegg said, then wind BBH up to roots, hold for a moment then shift onto cool setting for a minute. Unwind.

I would not say I have BIG hair, but it is very glossy and smooth.

I have quite fine hair.

OllieWollieWoo · 07/02/2011 14:35

Does it work on shorter hair? I have a short'ísh jaw length bob (v fine hair) and can't work out if its worth getting one?

MmeLindt · 07/02/2011 14:39

Ollie
My hair just about touches my shoulders. have a look at my blog if you want to see what length I mean. I think it would work on slightly shorter hair - I hope so cause I want to have more layers cut into mine, and have it cut shorter.

sweetheart · 07/02/2011 14:53

I have fine hair and it doesn't make much difference to my hair. It's ok initially and does add some omph - but after about 10 mins it's mostly dropped out. Plus I find it takes quite a while and so I can't use it in the mornings as it makes me horribly late - and I have got my hair caught up in it dispite all the reviews claiming that you really really dont.

MmeLindt · 07/02/2011 14:54

My hair got caught in it last week for the first time - cause I was MNetting at the same time.

It was really easy to twirl the tangle out. I was surprised.

OllieWollieWoo · 07/02/2011 15:34

MmeLindt - what a great blog - and great hair too!!! We have v similar hair and I really like your results! Now going to hunt for DH's Amazon voucher which he said I could use for a new Kenwood hand mixer....Wink

mrsshackleton · 07/02/2011 15:51

I have the same problem as sweetheart, hair gets caught in it all the time - mine is long and fine. It makes my hair look a bit better but hasn't changed my life

FluffyMummy123 · 07/02/2011 15:52

Lindt still looks exactly the same

MmeLindt · 07/02/2011 16:04

Oh, bog off, Cod. :o

I do not. I am much more glam.

It actually doesn't photograph that well. It is swishier in RL.

FreeButtonBee · 07/02/2011 16:06

I love mine. Hair is fine but quite a lot of it. It gives more body and movement, I wouldn't call it 'big hair' on me. When I use it my hair is just much more polished looking and swishy. I am also v lazy so being able to style hair one handed while mning is a big plus!

Also good to freshen up hair before heading out in the evening. I haven't used my straighteners since I got it.

Alouiseg · 08/02/2011 17:50

Ive had my Big Hair for three months. it cost around £39 but I figured i have saved nearly £200 on blow drys. Do you think i should post on Martin Lewis' website Wink

moragbellingham · 08/02/2011 19:58

I have very fine hair and it's day 1 and I'm thinking it's OK - very overpriced for the actual difference it makes to my hair.

I got mine from Robert Dyas for £35 but I needed a new hairdryer anyway.
