Eyebrow make-up Powder or Pencil?

Today I had a makeup makeover at the Dior counter, loved all the make-up and really loved the look (oh I had to didn't I seeing as it's all £££ !!) BUT wasn't sure on the eyebrow pencil she used, I liked how it seemed to complete my eyes, but it seemed to be just a line drawn through my own eyebrow. So, I was wondering if anyone else used eyebrow make-up and if so which one would you recommend. Do you think a pencil (Bit worried here as I can't draw a straight line never mind an arched one !) or powder.

I use a very hard, sharp pencil and literally draw in individual hairs with short movements. It never looks like a line, it shouldnt be drawn in one movement

I tried powder today and was a bit Groucho Marx-ey

I sometimes use a little powder to make my eyebrows look a bit more intense, but mine are a good shape to start with.

I use a powder (actually it's an eye shadow - in a quad pallete thing). I use a proper eyebrow brush which I treated myself to, from Bobbi Brown.

Makes all the difference to my now 48yr old face and I find when I can't be bothered to do it, I look tired somehow, about the eyes. I don't like the eyebrow kits of powder because I've always found them dry and cakey looking.

I use powder and a small slanted brush.

Soap & Glory Arch de Triumph. Idiot-proof :)

I use this Benefit wax and powder set, I like the way the wax makes the powder 'stick' so it doesn't smudge if I rub my eyebrows. The brushes that come with it are fab too... well worth the investment, otherwise Ruby and Millie do a similar cheaper version without the brushes.

Cyb - sounds like you're probably just using the wrong colour. It can look really natural if you find a colour to match your brows. If you're anywhere between mid brown and blonde, try MAC's Omega eyeshadow. It's perfect because it has no orangey undertones.

Also bear in mind that if your skin is still 'sticky' from foundation the powder will go on darker so if you want something more defined don't completely mattify your skin but if you want something subtle then brush a little face powder over the brow area first.
