Did it change your life, did you suddenly look 110% better in your clothes ?
Do you like the colours they said you should wear ?
Am considering asking for this for Mothers Day, just wondered about it's usefulness.
Thanks

Years ago, yes.

Did it change my life?...erm...no.

Was useful but to be honest, I was surprised the woman got me right because, quite frankly, she looked shocking.

Hey ho.

I had a great experience with House of Colour. Cost £95. Where are you based OP?
The thing is, you may already know what colours are best on you, but when you get your swatch book you realise how many other colours too you could wear. I find it very useful to know what goes together, and what to wear in summer, as I'm a winter and live in black and charcoal all winter and struggle with summer colours. I think it's a great idea post babies to get you back to looking less tired/mumsy (for want of a better word).
It's supposed to make you look younger and slimmer you know!

i went to house of colour in south ken. is fab, well worth it. went with sister. it takes a while to bed in as you gradually replace stuff. more challenging is what shape clothes to wear.

tattycoram · 08/02/2011 13:12

Polyhymnia, I went to Morag Young in South Ken on the recommendation of a friend. She was great

Thanks a lot.

I had CMB consultation about 20 years ago (god is that possible?!).
I can't remember which season I turned out to be but it consists of primary colours such as bright red and blue. At the time I couldn't stand these colours so avoided them like the plague.
However when I have bothered to take the CMB advice and wear said colours I have always had lots of compliments.
I really liked the autumn colours....but apparently they do nothing for me.
I didn't know CMB was still going!

FluffyMummy123 · 09/02/2011 07:18

I went to a woman near Winchester. Independent

LaBellaSantaCaterinadiSiena · 10/02/2011 15:45

I had CMB at work about 10 years ago.

CDMforever I came out as brights like you. Funnily enough I was flicking through either the ASOS magazine or Red this month and saw my CMB colour pallete is supposed to be big this season so thought I ought to be brave..

Funnily enough, not long after I had it doen I went to the personal shopper in Dickens and Jones for a dress for a wedding and her choice (which I bought) was a satsuma-coloured dress. Would never have chosen it myself, but it looked stunning and got loads of comments, and that colour featured in my CMB colours too

Poly, It must have been House of Colour - their website has got a page with all the consultants so you can find your closest one.
I've come across 3 different companies; I was persuaded to go to HOC with a friend. Having been to another company previously, I thought I knew what I was doing - it seems my friends could see otherwise, so I went for a 'refresh' to learn a bit more, it was a bit of a shock to find out the first analysis was wrong and I would be changing my wardrobe again but I could finally see when and what was best on me. What a godesend when kids came along, I hated being pregnant and was 'green' through most of it, so it was a good boost to hear people tell me I looked good and pregnancy suited me!

I then came across a C&G night school course- 10 evenings is apparently enough training to do this for a living? I think not! - all seemed too random, hit and miss, with not enough supporting information for me.

HOC were the only ones who demonstrated and explained it to me in a way that I could see, understand and was therefore able to use when I went shopping. I wasn't a natural with colour but can work with a logical system which they gave me.

Having spent a lot of my tbk (time before kids) delivering training, the value is in how effective it is when I get home; having a fun day is a bonus but not a good investment if I can't use the information!

Mama - I guess it did change my life! I never liked shopping because I didn't know where to start, now at least I do what I need to, know when it suits me and get out quick!

FluffyMummy123 · 14/02/2011 13:23

oh magic

you only EVER post about colour analysis

funny that

Legacy · 14/02/2011 13:31

I went to HOC and have to reluctantly agree that she DID get my colours 'right', and it kind of gave me an excuse to chuck out a lot of old things and start again.

I probably could have achieved the same result (and saved £95 ) by going through my photos and dividing them into photos of me which I 'like' and those I don't. Miraculously, in all the ones I 'like' I am wearing 'my colours' Hmm And thinking way back 20 years or so, all my favourites suits/ tops/ coats etc were all in 'my colours'.

The woman who ran my workshop has stopped doing it now, so I never went back for make-up or style.

MarniesMummy · 14/02/2011 13:45

I had mine done about 15-20 years ago.
It's great really as though you'll no doubt have figured out some of it for yourself, you're unlikely to have given it enough thought to have worked out exactly which colours work and why.

I loved it (even as a 20-ish year old) and still use what I learnt every day.
