What to wear to Le Trois Garcon?

ifancyashandy · 04/02/2011 20:23

Going next weekend and want to get le outfit right!

Choices are this

I'd wear it with black heels, opaques and a BIG necklace (dark gold). I own all this so no shopping required boo.

But I worry it's a bit, I dunno.... suburban.

My heart wants to wear black leather legging / jean things, black or leopard print heels, a new top (shopping required Grin!) and a black tux.

Your thoughts, Oh Stylish MNers please!

IMO, NOBODY looks good in leather trousers/leggings. Eeeuch!

Sorry that isn't very positive...

ifancyashandy · 04/02/2011 20:52

Entitled to your opinion of course!

But I am told I look fab in mine! I have great legs and arse (apparently) Grin Grin!!!

And it's all about the stylin'!

OP posts:
Ormirian · 04/02/2011 20:53

Hurray for a response!

of course you are quite wrong! Ifancy has a really nice arse and legs!

BelligerentGhoul · 04/02/2011 20:54

Never heard of it but it does look pretty.

I agree that leather trousers are never going to be good - and surely they'd be a bit...erm...sweaty?

Then again, if I wore a dress like the one you've linked to I would a) look like a straw-chewing peasant who was about 17 months pregnant and b) spill my dinner down it. Also it is what dp would call a 'Hammer Virgin' dress, methinks.

If you would do neither and are not phased by the Hammer Virgin idea (it holds a certain charm I think), then I would say the dress has to be better than leather trousers.

No help, sorry. :)

Susiewho · 04/02/2011 20:57

Ugh! That awful restaurant sells fois gras. Angry Don't go anywhere near it!

Susiewho · 04/02/2011 20:58

Typo, sorry: FOIE GRAS! Yuck.

ifancyashandy · 04/02/2011 20:59

Ahh, Ormirian, I like you! Here - let me get you one of these Wine!

Leather trousers are not sweaty. Not on my fragrant arse anyway!

Quite like the 'Hammer Virgin' idea. Have worn dress for dinner before and no bib (pink or otherwise!) required. It just feels a bit .... boring. Even if it is knicker length short.

This is a fun, buzzy and (was - might not be so much anymore) trendy restaurant in WhoreShoreditch.

I may have to go shopping!!

I love foie gras. Sorry

animula · 04/02/2011 21:06

Is this the look you're going for? There are seven pictures, it's the bottom left.

Although that's Emanuelle in the pix, la Corine wears leather trousers. Methinks absolutely no to leather + leopard print heels. Leather might look a little try-to-hard, unless dressed with a twist. Either dress it down, or with something that speaks a different fashion argot, iyswim, though the tux might do that for you.

I have to admit, that bottom left picture is my default "going out" outfit. And since I am not uber-stylish, it is probably past its best. But I am heartened to see the lovely Vogue ed. still rocking the look. And good for her!

Haven't been to LTG, so can't be absolutely spot on.

LadyGaga · 04/02/2011 21:09

Whatever you wear, please book for pre-cocktails at

"LoungeLover" just opposite to the restaurant!

www.loungelover.uk.com Grin

EsioTrot · 04/02/2011 21:09

I like the leather trousers tux idea.

Enjoy! It's been a couple of years since I was there but it was great fun.

animula · 04/02/2011 21:09

(I do realise those aren't leather trousers she's wearing, btw!)

animula · 04/02/2011 21:10

"Yay!" @ Lounge Lover. Yyy.

EsioTrot · 04/02/2011 21:11

Oh and yy to cocktails in loungelover beforehand...it's fab too! Great advice LadyGaga :)

ifancyashandy · 04/02/2011 21:13

Can't open the link ...

But of course it's a no no to the leather / leopard print combo! Well spotted and thank you for saving me from potentially channelling Dorian!!

The trousers are cropped in length, zips on the ankles and would be worn 'dressed down'. Shoes would now be black suede heels!

ifancyashandy · 04/02/2011 21:14

OOh, we are booked into Lounge Lover first!! Yipeeeeeee!!!!! Grin
