Boots broken, now what

My flat, black, knee high winter boots have finally given up and can no longer be worn. I have a wardrobe full of leggings, tunics and dresses and have no idea what I can wear with them now.

I am off out this evening to find emergency replacement boots/something else but only have access to Outfit, Next, New Look, Clarks and Sainsburys. At a push I could make it into any store on Sunday.

The replacements need to be flat (for I have 2 pre-schoolers to fun after) and suitable for wearing with leggings, skinny jeans etc.

What do I need? More boots? Shoes? I've never successfully bought shoes for this time of year. I do lots of walking, so need to walk in them.

Sounds like you need another pair the same.

Flat ankle boots would also be good (you can tuck skinny jeans into them) though perhaps less flattering to shorter or chunkier legs.

Ballet flats are an option but not so great in wet weather and not very supportive for walking in.

Thanks. I definitely want avoid ballet flats. Looks like I need boots then. I always go for black, knee high boots. Is there an alternative? I always mean to look at what others are wearing but always forget.

Ankle boots would be an alternative - I've got a few pairs which I've worn to death with tunics, leggings etc. Mine are from Clarks and M+S - you might be lucky and get something in Clarks' sale?

They're a good in-between shoes and knee-boots, and some of them can go with dresses too (depends on their and your style though...and the dress too, I guess. Oh dear, that didn't make much sense!)

Good luck - let us know what you find!

Ankle boots or knee boots are definitely what you need.

I would be in the same panic if my black knee high boots died. I'm living in them.
