Has anyone tried this? I usually go to the salon to have my hair coloured, but I really need to economise.

One of the girls at work used this, and her hair looked fantastic (but then, her hair looks fantastic whatever she does to it!). At 52, I need all the help I can get Smile.

I have used this the last 2 times that I've coloured my hair and it's by far the best colour I've ever used (and I've pretty much tried them all over the years). Very easy to apply, practically no mess (no mean feat with me...my Mum's bathroon still bears the scars of my first forays into hair dye as a teenager) and the results are as near professional as I've seen with a home hair dye. Costs a few quid more than most of the others on the market but well worth it, IMO...and still a fraction of the cost of a trip toi the salon.

Sorry, I wasn't very impressed and will be sticking to Garnier Nutrisse or Lloreal Castings in future.

Yes, I agree it was good that there was hardly any mess and it was easy to apply, but I found that it didn't give good coverage and, despite really massaging in, I still had loads of roots at the back it didn't cove. The colour itself also came out a lot darker than I wanted and disappointed that had grey coming through at the temples after a couple of days.

pissedrightoff · 04/02/2011 08:20

Sorry, bad result here too. Did'nt cover my roots at all.(did make hair very shiny though)

missmartha · 04/02/2011 08:36

I thought it was dreadful.

It wasn't messy to use, but the colour was much darker than I expected and it faded away within a week or so

No, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and certainly won't use it again.

soppypreggyloon · 04/02/2011 09:16

Lovely colour but rubbish on greys. They faded to blond within a week and now 1 month on I have to re dye as root coverage was poor.

I'm going back to garner nutrisse too.

I thought it was really good and a lot cheaper than my usual trip to Aveda. Don't really have any grey but it covered up a bad hilight job well.

OracleInaCoracle · 04/02/2011 09:59

i agree with lucy, I loved it and it lasted very well on my hair with tends to fade v quickly. although i tried the nice n easy foam one and it was awful. colour is good, but it made such a mess and was v hard to get off my skin/hairline. had to really scrub around termples

moggiek · 05/02/2011 18:06

Thank you all. I think I'll give it a try, and if it's a disaster, I'll head for the L'Oreal!

i have used it twice now and i love it , the only thing is the colour seems to fade quite quickly but that could be because im using a red shade and red shades do tend to fade quicker. in terms of quality of colour and covering all my hair i would say its the best dye i have ever used.

i found the opposite, but i have red hair, so it might just take better on mine iykwim.

I was thinking of trying this - Tesco have it for £6:66 (think the offer had another week to run)
