A good pore minimiser?

idobelieveinfairies · 02/02/2011 11:49

..or whatever it is called, you know the creams that shrink your pores so they are less noticable! Also good foundations that does not exagerate them?

I find that after showering/washing the water seems to close the pores and my skin looks ok but the minute i apply creams/make-up everything is noticible, is that how it is or am i strange?? Grin

Can anybody recommend one/some??

Hellpppppp

I have the same problem

Tomorrow im off to buy this ( sorry dont know how to word link )

www.boots.com/en/Clinique-Pore-Minimizer-Instant-Perfector-All-Skin-Types-15ml_9164/

and then this foundation, which can also be used as a concealer as i have red blemmishes, spots ect and this is supposed to be the hidden secret no one knows about, look at the reviews and the reviews for the same foundation but in diffrent shades
( lisa eldridge uses it on her acne video, you can see its amazing )

Let me know how you get on Tiny...it can be an expensive business all this testing can't it!

I have only really ever used no.7 stuff but want to try others.

I am allergic to Elizabeth Arden and am using a clinique foundation at the moment (perfect balance) or something like that. It's ok but not brilliant!

I have the Clinique pore minimiser - the one that comes in a little green pump which is called a serum. It does seem to have an effect but not a massive one tbh. Sorry!
I have a product from Clinique which I use under make up which acts a bit like polyfiller, it fills up the dips a bit and makes the final effect looks smoother. I can't remember what it is called but it comes in a red tub. You could ask for a sample to try it rather than buy it.

moragbellingham · 02/02/2011 14:30

I had a Clinique pore minimiser sample. I would ask for one at the counter as I didn't really rate it.
Studio secrets primer from L'Oreal is much better.

AlicesWonderland · 02/02/2011 14:42

ooh just marking my place incase you find anything that works Grin

I don;t seem to have noticeable pores all over my face, but have one on my cheek that is huge and never closes? Hmm minimises

Now there seems to be another next to it ...help

hugebelly · 02/02/2011 14:48

I find Cliniques toner works quite well. It really tightens the skin.

3gorgeousboys · 02/02/2011 14:51

I'm not sure if anything can close them, but I've found the L'Oreal Studio Secrets primer is very very good at hiding the blighters.

hoolabombshell · 02/02/2011 15:57

Another vote for L'Oreal Studio Secrets primer - comes in a tiny jar but a little goes a long way and it gives a nice smooth, matte finish. I find it also means I don't need to use as much foundation on top, as it smooths out my skin so well.

Avon do a cheaper version called "Magix Face Perfector" which I found to be just as good.

McGrumpyPantsofGrumpington · 02/02/2011 17:56

I use Benefit Porefessional Primer. Costs £24 but a little goes a long way so it lasts ages. It's very lightweight and blends in easily, though I would recommend applying after your foundation to problem areas rather than beforehand.

eyebrowqueen · 02/02/2011 18:22

Another vote for the L'oreal primer OR mineral makeup is v good for disguising them. Lily Lolo for example.

Also you probably scrutinise them far more than anyone else does ( I do with mine!)

I really don't think anything really works to minimise them as such so all you can do is keep them clean and cover them up.

polarfox · 02/02/2011 19:27

Estee Lauder Idealist is very good- ask for a sample

But nothing is excellent really, as eyebrow says..

Thanks for your replies, i will go and get some testers of those you have mentioned and see if they make a difference Wink

Hello,

went out this morning and bought the Clinique Pore Minimizer-instant-Perfector, felt out of place, im 24 and the were alot of mature women there, im sure they were looking at me thinking 'are you lost' shudder.

Anyway tried it on in the shop ( I wore no make upto, so brave ) and I could see slight result instantly so bought it- ive now got home ( took 10 minutes ) and I can see the results are amazing, alittle bit shocked actually, will be buying this again when it runs out.

Also bought the vichy dermablend foundation ( as can be used as a concealer aswell ) got in the car and threw a bit on with my fingers and it was a bit dry looking on the skin? like it needed a bit of moisturiser under it, but 10 minutes later again when I got home it no longer seems like that and has covered my redness very well and looks flawles, I feel ive had a very productive shopping trip today as bought some soap and glory 3 for 2 and a babyliss big hair which I cant wait to try when DD goes for a nap
x

sorry for any typos, trying to rush.
