For such a long time my nails have split and flaked but I think I have a solution...

I have upped my intake of veg including focus on 'green veg' like broccoli, spinach etc. as well a red meat - steak.

I now have gorgeous nails (or getting there) I have also been usingRimmel French Manicure 433 French Ivory covered by Rimmel Matte Finish top coat.

I have no idea what made a difference but these are the factors. I make sure that I use the matt coat on the ends and undersides of my nails.

I used to have gorgeous strong nails and then all of a sudden they turned into flaky, splitting stumps and I didn't know why.

I hope this helps someone because I mourned my pre DS nails.

Good luck and remember, always wear rubber gloves!

I had terrible nails, they constantly flaked or split. A friend told me about Nailtiques formula 2 which I'd never heard of but I bought some off Amazon and its amazing!

I could notice a difference within 1 week and within a month I was having to actualy file my nails down as they were getting so long. It is just like applying a top coat and you put it on once a day.

seche vite top coat and always keep the nails painted. mine just break straight off otherwise.

I second the Nailtiques recommendation. It's fab stuff.

The other thing which is great for strengthening nails is Cornucrescine horse hoof ointment which you can get in tack shops, and also on ebay. It was recommended to me by someone who has horses. She told me that all the girls she knew that worked in stables had mega strong nails because of this stuff. It is a bit icky though, like thin greasy liquorice but it comes in a massive pot and you hardly need any at all, just a dab rubbed into each nail.
