Seeing as though we're doing recommendations/things to avoid!

I LOVE Aldi make-up. So far I've got the lip glosses in every colour, really easy to put on and last ages. The eyeshadows are fab as well, I have the silver/grey combo, which lasts ALL day - easily as good as my Urban Decay/Estee Lauder/MAC ones.

I have one of the lipsticks, it's a bit bright for me but fine as a base under a paler one, and also lasts.

My friend loves the nail polishes but I must admit I haven't tried them.

Can't remember exact prices, but definitely under £2 for most bits. They do foundation etc as well but I've not tried that.

I also swear by good old Vaseline for lips, putting around hairline before dying hair, on eyelashes & brows, cuticles, dry skin patches. And Sudocrem for spots :)

I get it from home bargains and my sis gets hers from
body care.

TragicallyHip · 02/02/2011 12:58

Oh ok thanks, don't live anywhere near those shops.

ENormaSnob · 02/02/2011 14:19

Oh, I'm not sure where else sells it but I will keep an eye out for you.

I'm sure there was a thread on it last summer. Perhaps see if anyone else knows where stock it.

SuperTheoryofSuperEverything · 02/02/2011 14:21

Oh vaseline for sure....

Barbara Daly nail varnish is fab too.

rimmel 25 hour foundation

I've never seen Aldi make up!? Intrigued...

TragicallyHip · 02/02/2011 14:49

Thanks, I found it on Amazon and will have a look in Savers (does cheaper beauty products etc).

JulesJules · 02/02/2011 14:56

Atrixo hand cream - just as good as really expensive handcreams.

Vaseline lip balm - I like the rosy one and the new cocoa butter one.

Barbara Daly for Tesco liquid eyeshadow pens.

hoolabombshell · 02/02/2011 15:40

Vaseline lip therapy, the pink one.

Garnier Clean & Fresh Ultra Gentle Make Up Remover (only around £2 in Superdrug and so much better than the Lancome and Bobbi Brown ones I've used).

George at Asda nail polish (fashion forward colours and usually only £1).

St Moriz self tanning mousse (about £2.99 - £3.99 here in Scotland at Savers/Home Bargains/Bodycare) and gives a realistic olive/tan colour.

Boots 17 do some great solo eyeshadows for £3.89, well pigmented and pretty long-lasting.

Lava Gro hair range ..recently purchased some from 99pshop..pretty good and smell divine

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 02/02/2011 18:11

Waitrose Pure toner. £1.59 or something a bottle, rather than the £11 one I used in the past.
It doesn't smell beautiful, smells of nothing in fact, but does exactly the same job on my skin.

Vasaline - but just the plain one, not the rosy one which I find drying.

BelligerentGhoul · 02/02/2011 18:23

Oh yes, the Waitrose cheapo eye make up remover is good too. Only costs pennies.

Stuffedcat · 02/02/2011 20:57

Vaseline - for removing eyemake up, you can get an enormous tub for a couple of quid - lasts ages.

Dove Beauty bar - having read reviews a few years back on makeupalley.com,thought I'd try it for removing make up as recommended, I'd never go back to a 'normal' cleanser as the improvement in my skin is too good!

Aspirin face mask.

mummylouise · 03/02/2011 02:39

avon nail polish lasts ages at least a week.

body shop hemp range

asda liquid talc leaves ur skin dead soft on offer just now 2 for £2
