too frumpy?

I am thinking about this type of dress, flats and tan leather satchel, but am worried it might be a bit frumpy/mumsy? DC2 is due 1st May and want to buy a few complete outfits now for wearing after I've had him.

What do you guys think?

Think that dress is quite mumsy. To be honest I would hold off slightly on buying complete outfits before baby arrives, though if you are anything like me you won't want to see your maternity wear again once he does! Flats a good idea if you're planning on pushing a pram, definitely get a satchel rather than an "official" baby bag as you can still fit baby things in one. Not sure I am helping much on the clothes front but if your baby is due in May then I'd wait for a few more spring/summer lines to come in to the shops before buying anything.

Jumping on as I want to buy things that aren't elasticated to the nth degree. I'm 27wks and sick of maternity wear!

I agree the dress is a bit mumsy and not practical enough for me chasing my toddler ds. I'm thinking tunics and leggings to start as relatively forgiving in terms of comfort and style. I'd going to give bf a go again so need real clothes that'll work for bf too.

Flats and bag sound good tho! :)

I got these the other day, they were both reduced to £30, are extremely flattering on my post birth belly and I can BF in them

They will both look OK when I lose some poundage too

I second leggings and tunics. Boob breastfeeding tops fab to go under them. Also I had a section so needed over the bump comfy bottoms so topshop maternity leggings were fab. You never know how much weight you're going to carry so leggings are perfect.

Jumping on: DS1 due on Wednesday and have already been buying!

To be honest, leggings and tunics are my idea of hell. I've gone in the opposite direction: I've put on no weight around the waist (apart from baby, obviously) and all of it on my arse/thighs so I have bought some jackets that flatter an hourglass, and a couple of skirts that fasten round the waist and skim the hips/thighs. Also, thinking longer-term so all of it is office-appropriate. It's all in a 10, which is a size bigger than I was before, so am aware I won't be able to wear it immediately. Hmm

Giddyup I like that kaftan dress, lovely nnd very summery.
