I'm fed up of my hair just...well, being there. I want it to be interesting. And low maintenance of course!

It's a couple of inches past my shoulders, but hard to tell the exact length iyswim because of the curl. It did once have some layers in it but I haven't actually had it cut for nearly a year Blush. The curliness is totally random - some bits are just very wavy, but others bits (underneath at the back, mostly) are ringlety. If you need a hair type (see the British Curlies classification) it's probably a type 2c, bordering on 3a. On a very good day it looks a bit wild and slightly bohemian (seaside holidays are good!), on a bad day I look like the guy from Nickelback. With a bit less beard.

My current routine is wash, condition, frizz-ease then curly mousse which keeps it mostly under control but it just looks very ordinary, and does have a tendency to frizz at times. (And yes, before you mention the curly girl method, I have thought about it but not been brave enough to try it!).

So, after all that waffle, I need suggestions for an achievable new hair style. I have an oval face, fringes don't really suit me - and even if they did the frizzy-fuzz makes them impossible.

Anyone? TY!

Oh, and forgot to say it's in fairly good condition because it's untreated and not heat styled for a v long time.

I have a similiar-ish hair type. What about a long layered side fringe? Kind of like the blonde in the below link but obv the rest of your hair would be abit longer than yours.

Would recommend getting it cut and getting your layers sorted. Curly hair needs layers imo to avoid the shaggy dog or triangle look

side fringe

Or side parting with longer layers (sort of like how I wear mine) though mine obv doesn't look as good as this

side parting

Thanks!

I did once have the side parting with longer layers, but that was in my GHD days! Obviously I still have a side parting, but yes, def need to sort the layers out.

I keep thinking I want to go shorter - in my head I will look like a 1980s Molly Ringwald, but in reality I'll probably just look like I have a fuzzy lampshade on my head. Just like I did in the 80s (that was the phase after it was short and I looked like a Proclaimer).

I've had some great suggestions from FaffTastic but wondering if anyone has any more? Smile

I have naturally curly hair and definately recommend layers.

I would like a thick side fringe but worried it will look odd.
