I can't make head or tail of all the skincare in Boots - too much choice Help!

I have a serious Chanel skincare and make up habit. I am trying to wean myself off it, and move onto something a little bit cheaper that I
I am coming to the end of my Liz Earle stuff, which I like, but am not overwhelmed with.
I have been into Boots, and all the different choice sin L'Oreal, Nivea Visage, NO7 etc made my head hurt. At leaset in the premium ranges, you get someone to decipher it all for you - I think that is why I have stayed with the premium brands ( started off with Clinique, been via Lancome, to Chanel)
My skin is dry, not prone to breakouts, not wrinkly yet ( touch wood). I use wash off cleaners, toner, day and night moisturisers, serum below makeup.
I was about to try Boots Perform and Protect stuff, but thought I would ask MN before I parted with more money.

I use the P&P range & like you in the past i have used lots of different ranges,i have to say the P&P really suits my skin & i have noticed a difference.

Plus its on 3 for 2 at the moment.

I had a chanel habit that i like to occasionally indulge but cant justify the huge expense now. Im using soap and glory and have been happy with it. I have very funny, sensitive skin and it suits me fine. Ive been told i have the face of a five year old so it must be working lol

I really recommend the No 7 range - I use the intense protect & perfect range. I think it is just as good as the premium range that I used to use. Because the packaging isn't as fancy and you are not paying for a big brand name it is much cheaper!

Another vote here for No 7. Or buy a cheaper cleanser/face wash and splurge on your usual moisturiser?

BendyBob · 28/01/2011 15:44

I completely agree. I usually use Estee Lauder but thought I'd see what was out there that might be cheaper.

Blimey Boots' choice nearly made my head explode. And although it is cheaper, I still think £15ish is a lot to make a mistake about and take a chance on.

I am currently trying out L'oreal Revitalift but in the end it was a case of eeny meeny tbh. No-one to ask in Boots to help youHmm

If you do want to try that (seems quite nice so far btw) then go to Wilkinsons - it was tonnes cheaper in there as I subsequently discovered for the same thing Hmm

I think ( no expert, could be wrong) with dry skin a cream cleanser might be better/less drying. Love soap and glory, great smell but i have been a little reluctant to use in on my sensitive face because its quite perfumed but might give it a go now. If you cant find any thing in Boots Dr Haushkas is fantastic and they great one week samples.
