This one

Well?

It is beautiful, but would I wear it?

Event I am thinking of is a spring wedding, in a hotel. Is it a bit too much? Should I buyu it anyway and think that I will find a use for it eventually?

You realise that someone's going to see this thread and snap it up. Then you'd be flummoxed!

Go on, buy it! You know you want to...

BitOfFun · 25/01/2011 16:43

It's gorgeous, and you'd look great in it. However, it will only ever cost you (more) money, being dry-clean only. I reckon I'd leave it.

TrillianAstra · 25/01/2011 16:44

I have washed silk dresses in the bath before, with special silk-washing delicate liquid.

it's gorgeous - get it

BooBooGlass · 25/01/2011 16:46

God no. I got an almost identical one from New Look I think last summer for £100 less.

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 25/01/2011 16:47

go for it, you will look stunning in it

TrillianAstra · 25/01/2011 16:47

The New Look one was see though BooBoo - I know, I tried it on.

Not sure I would wear it to a UK spring wedding in a hotel, maybe a tropical beach wedding.....buy it, it may be no good and you can send it back and then at least you won't be wondering.

BooBooGlass · 25/01/2011 16:49

Yep, I got a massive slip to wear under mine
But I will say that I think it will date terribly. I don't know if I'll be wearing mine again this summer, but for 30 quid I don't really care. But £130? Nope.

TrillianAstra · 25/01/2011 16:49

(if you are thinking of the one I think you are thinking of - it came in white with pattern or black with pattern and was 1 layer of v thin mterial)

TrillianAstra · 25/01/2011 16:49

That's clever - maybe a cheap dress with cleaver underwear would be the better option.

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 25/01/2011 16:49

clever underwear, not cleaver.

TrillianAstra · 25/01/2011 16:50

OK, I won't. Even though it is beautiful. It is OTT for the only thing I need a dress for.

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 25/01/2011 16:51

Yes, that one. Massively see through. can you really buy a maxi bandeau slip to go under that such that you can't see the slip?

I just bought a long granny petticoat in flesh colour and hoiked it up over my boobs. Not glamorous, but totally invisible and got rid of the see-through factor

TrillianAstra · 25/01/2011 16:53

Cunning!
