Help! Advice from people used to having fringes please!

(a) how do you cleanse face etc without ruining how fringe sits? Is it ok to flatten it back with a hairband? Or what do you do?

(b)what do you do to it the next morning to make it look ok? Don't have greasy hair so don't want to wash and style hair or even just fringe every day!

These may seem like very basic questions but I'm a complete novice [bush]

just blow dry it into place every morning, you don't have to wash it

Hmmm, that was supposed to be Blush not bush!

you can move hair you know Smile

how it looks will depend on your hair type. if you have wavy hair it could well go wavy. if you have straight her it will be er, straight.

you may be over thinking this.

arabella36 · 23/01/2011 20:32

I am over thinking! I'm panicking as I'm a bit old and have all of a sudden got a new haircut I've never had before - out of my comfort zone Grin

you don't need any products just pull hair taught with the brush then blast it Grin

I've recently had a fringe but back in and get the hair drier out after washing my face. Aim it straight down on full blast, with my hair it helps to wet the sides near my face also. I don't put any extra product in for this quick touch up otherwise it gets too heavy.

Gillybobs · 23/01/2011 20:42

I's stick a hair grip in it (pushing it to the side rather than back) to cleanse, Puttin a hairband on can make it stick up. Mines is fine in the morning just needs a quick brush like the rest of it.

My fringe does get a bit greasy (because its on your forehead all day) even though the rest of my hair doesn't so don't be surprised if this happens. I keep a can of dry shampoo and squirt a bit on the fringe on days Im not washing it, then a quick brush out and your done

southeastastra · 23/01/2011 20:49

this will sound classy but a bath hat will keep all hair off your face if you use a wash

CointreauVersial · 23/01/2011 21:01

I just shift it back to cleanse/moisturise my face.

Agree with Gillybobs - it does tend to get greasy before the rest of my hair, good old dry shampoo soon sorts it out.

I love having a fringe - cheaper than Botox if you've got a wrinkly forehead. Grin

Thank you all so much for the tipsSmile

It would never have occurred to me to blow-dry dry hair, I'll try it in the morning

I also use hair grips for cleansing. Bands make mine stick up too.

arabella36 · 23/01/2011 21:05

I will also find some of this dry shampoo - sounds handy!

If it is a bit wayward putting in a big velcro roller or two will help.

SlowComfortableShrew · 23/01/2011 21:37

you can wash your fringe without doing the rest of your hair if its looking a bit greasy. to get it to sit right just blast it from above with a hairdryer.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 24/01/2011 03:55

I use Klorane dry shampoo to just do the fringe in between washes as I am constantly playing with my fringe and so it gets greasier than the rest of my hair.
