Laser hair removal - make up to cover shadows

Hi, have just started having laser hair removal, and am having trouble with confidence!
Decided to have the hairs on my chin lasered, but in between treatments they grow back Blush.
Hair removal cream doesn't even touch them, so am shaving, but you can still see dark patches below my skin.
I am finding this really difficult to cope with, especially at work - when I'm not working I can just hide away at home, but I work with children, who notice and ask about everything.
So, has anyone got any make up ideas about how to cover this, or at least make it less noticeable?
TIA

I don't have time now, but google make up that covers birthmarks. There's a brill brand, whose name escapes me, but I'll find it for you.

You can normally get it in larger chemist/ pharmacies. I'll be back later....

couldn't find it, but I did find this . Claims to cover up tattoos etc. With MAC, you can try before you buy. Take along a little pot and they'll put some in there for you.

I used Vaniqua between laser sessions and found it really did slow up the hair growth. Its prescription only and can be hard to find in chemists.

Stick with the laser hair removal - its worth it in the end x

Dermablend is good stuff. I think that's what hugebelly might have been thinking of. If you are based in London go and have a chat in Charles Fox in Tavistock St who will advise you the best colours to use. If you are trying to cover shadow you might need to buy a colour to neutralise it first before covering it to match your skin tone. If you go to MAC head for the pro store off Carnaby St, they have a better range of concealers.

Thanks for the advice, probably should have said in my OP that I'm based about an hours drive from a large department store, and I'm not sure that they even stock MAC there! Will get a child free day soon, so that will be my first stop. Will look into dermablend too. Thanks, will try to see that the end result will be worth it!

how long will you have to shave for? im really interested in having my chin done

Iwantscallops · 21/01/2011 22:34

Bumpy, i'm in exactly the same position as you. I had my test patch done 9 days ago and i'm still waiting for it to fall out (please tell me it does!).

We must keep telling ourselves that it will be worth it in the end.

I have just taken to wearing scarves everywhere and avoiding sunlight!

Scallops, it was only Monday I had the test patch done, so I was hoping it would fall out soon! I was going to ring the clinic on Monday to ask about how long it should take. I wonder if it depends on how strong the laser was? Keep us posted on how it's going!

hifi, I'm not sure how long, I think it depends on how well it works for you. Feels like too long though!

Will be worth it in the end, will be worth it in the end...

Bumpy - mine has all come out today. It took 13 days. I used my teezers to take a good look and one just fell out and then when I exfoliated they all came out! It feels amazing not to have a stubbly chin - I just hope they come through thinner.

Hope your getting on with it ok. It really is awful growing it in but i hope it will be worth it.

Congratulations scallops! That sounds great, will buy some facial scrub tomorrow - exfoliation here I come!
