Maternity jeans? and other top mat clothes

right, I'm starting early as wasted a bit of money on cr*p stuff last time.

Where should I buy a great, flattering pair of maternity jeans (I'm a size 14 - 16)

also other clothes. where do you recommend

Last time:

H&M - bought a lot, it really was disposable tat, and all rubbish except the t-shirts.

Mothercare - OK but a bit M&S-ish.

Blooming Marvellous - Didn't like much, poorly made and didn't fit too much.

Formes - Loved it but could only afford one outfit. couldn't really afford that but got it anyway. Still got it and looking forward to wearing it again, v. flattering.

Anyone recently finished with any? Not due till June 06 so would be looking for Spring/Autumn ish typey clothes. Maybe winter. Will buy or accept donations. ta ladeeeeeeeeeeez

I used a lot of non mat stuff for both of my pregnancies and wore them again afterwards.. really recommend monsoon for their elasticated waisted skirts and empire line dresses --

I wore a fab long brown skirt with matching top when I went in to have my DS (I was a size 14 before baby and he was 10lb so I was quite big but they fitted well) and then left wearing it having lost over 2 stone... it sounds impossible but I loved leaving in normal clothes and I wore them for a while after and then chucked them out..

flum I had to laugh when I saw your list of shops in your town now that you had moved out of london....

as soon as I read it I thought "she lives in marlborough!"

you didn't mention Woad though, saviour that it is...

Trickorflum · 07/10/2005 23:16

ahh, well done pph, Cod sid you were near by. Oddly though, Hungerford has almost the same mix of shops.

Woad - what is that? have to confess haven't explored all the dark alleys (too worried about getting mugged)

princesspeahead · 08/10/2005 11:06

flum, Woad will change your life. (not while you are pg obviously). go down the end of the high street (towards the college) on the Boots side of the road. once past the library continue on the little road that goes to the right of that church (ie not on the main road to the roundabout) and woad is on that parade of shops on your right. lovely boutique-y shop which sells emporioarmani jeans, really nice well priced cashmere, bits of maxmara, bcbg, good accessories etc. the sort of stuff that yummymummies wear around wiltshire! but not stuffy and in-your-face sloaney. she does some good funky less-known labels from france etc...

Down that road is also a good beauty place (pedicures, waxes etc), a decent dental practice and a very good old fashioned school sports shop, if ever you need a cricket bat for a 6 yr old kind of thing....

teeavee · 08/10/2005 11:10

congrats flum
