Quick q about threading...

Have an unexpected 'day-off' today as mum-in-law has DS, so thought I'd pop into town and ask someone about getting my eyebrows threaded.

However - how do you start off? I know that sounds silly but after years of plucking with tweezers, do I have to let them grow out a bit first? If you do need to let them grow, won't they look awful for a week or two?

You could always go and ask them about it. I have mine threaded but I do tidy them inbetween with tweezers. I have to as the nearest threading is too far away. They will know best! It's the best way to groomed brows though. Have fun!

Ooh thanks, quite excited. How silly!

You will need a little bit of growth in order for there to be something for them to thread! I had tweezed for years and had to get them threaded every week at first to catch the hairs that hadn't grown the first time. However now I only get them done every 2/3 weeks and though some hairs grow back in between they are fine so don't look v noticeable. I have really bushy eyebrows which used to be the bane of my life and threading has transformed them!

I love the results of threading!

I was quite shocked at the difference in prices though.
I pay £4 for chin and upper lip and £2.50 for eyebrows to be threaded and if necessary trimmed.

I was in Manchester a few weeks ago and it was about £20! Shock

I agree, think some places are a rip off as it has become trendy - it is only 3 quid for eyebrows in indian salon on my local high st (in London) where they are great - in brow bars I have seen in some shopping centres it is £10 and some beauty salons charge £20!

Just went in to ask - I need to leave them 2-3 weeks to grow (eeek!) and then it's £15 a time, seems a lot!

That is pricey I'd have a look around for somewhere else!

I must admit that I have mine done at a Blink bar and it costs up to £20 depending on what you have done. But then I'm not familiar with asian salons living where I do, and it's just easier and quicker that way. Very envious of those who can though!

I always normally pay at least £10 for waxing / threading eyebrows but then found an asian salon that charges £3 (in London!) - bargain! Good result too.

BTW, I found threading very painful but apparently it gets better after the 1st time.

I was £5 for the first time - but then drops to £3 if you go regularly. I went to an Asian part of town and there were a couple of places that did it.

Take some painkillers before hand - and don't do it on the week of your dib dabs as its more painful then.
