flaky itchy scalp

i have suffered from this for as long as I can remember ............. Kerastase Anti-Dandruff shampoo used to work, and no longer does now. "Strong" shampoos such as head and shoulders or T-Gel make the problem a lot worse. I have recently been trying Liz earle's shampoo (which has no nasty chemicals) and have noticed a little improvement but not much. It is definitely linked to stress (having a horrible stressful time at the moment) ........... please please can someone recommend a shampoo/treatment that might work? My itchy scalp is driving me mad, and I am fed up seeing flakes in my hair and on my clothes -sorry, so gross.

I wholeheartedly recommend Lush Snake Oil - dd1 had psoriasis that nothing could help, but this stuff did. I also get an itchy scalp when I'm stressed and use it. I comes in a bar, but I break bits off and melt it in the microwave, which makes it easier to use.

Isn't very expensive either.

I use the Boots Expert range for itchy scalp - basically a shampoo, conditioner and a lotion for when its really bad. Good stuff leaves your hair nice and shiny too.

My hairdresser recommended Wella SP shampoo for flaky scalp and IT WORKS. I totally recommend it. My scalp is clear after about 2 weeks use. Alleluia.

Mine is related to stress and I ahve tried just about everything over the years. They tend to work for a bit and then stop.

At the moment I'm using Eucerin most nights and Oilatum two or three times a week. It's working pretty well. The E45 shampoo is okay too.
