Greasy hair

I've been pregnant or bf for the last four years and my hair has been fine. I am bf 9 month old DD2 but since my periods have returned a month ago, my hair has become very greasy and lank(could this be hormonal? might it improve??!). Anyway I have fine, straight, short hair. Does anyone have any shampoo suggestions to combat this? Preferably not uber expensive.

The only solution I can think of other than a magic shampoo is to colour it as I used to colour it and it tended to dry it out.

Please help. I HATE my hair atm!

I use Umberto Gianini (yellow shampoo) - about 5 quid. Takes my hair about 5 days to get greasy after using this. I think it is brill. I tried some clarifying shampoos but they were too harsh and hair got greasy quickly.

Do you use products on your hair? If so then it can lead to a build up which makes it look greasy really quickly and a normal hair wash won't get rid of all of it. If this is the case then get a good clarifying shampoo which will get rid of the build up. Pantene and other brands do them so won't cost a fortune. Maybe try to use less conditioner if you tend to use a lot and avoid the roots.
Also give all your brushes a good wash and give your straightners etc a wipe.

If you haven't always had this problem then yes it could be hormonal and could well settle down once your cycle is back to normal.

Hope this helps!

i've had greasy hair and skin since having DCs. i put a dark colour on my hair hoping it would make it less greasy but it made it look more greasy. i am now having my hair bleached at the hairdressers and it isnt greasy anymore. sorry cant recommend a shampoo as i have not found one that worked, but i dont wash my hair everyday, every other day is enough

Instead of conditioner, maybe use a serum.

According to my hairdresser a lot of shampoos contain silicon which can build up in hair making it look greasy. She suggested the Aussie range of shampoo and conditioner. They aren't expensive and boots often have them on offer. My hair has looked much, much better since I started using them.

Thanks for all these suggestions.

I will look up the Umberto Gianini and the Aussie shampoos and clarifying shampoos (had never heard of these before). I think I perhaps do use too much conditioner. I'm not sure what a serum is, but will look it up.

Thanks!

I have got quite oily hair and I find the best thing to do is to use a very natural/gentle shampoo (I use Faith in Nature) and skip conditioner most times.
I used to condition it every day until I realised it was making it look greasy and heavy.
