Hunter wellies - worth the money?

Are Hunter wellies expensive just because they're trendy or are they actually worth the money? I'm sick of buying cheap wellies which only last a few months or which are really uncomfortable to wear so I was wondering if Hunters are good quality or just a fashion statement.

I've worn hunters for years-well one pair for year (had my old pair about 10years) they finally bit the dust last year so I got a new pair last year. Got them out last week for the first time this year and they've split down the front Sad . The grip has always been notoriously bad but I was like bambi on ice on a muddy path last weekend compared to DH in his bog standard farm shop pair. Def won't be repurchasing Sad and wouldn't recommend at all!

I bought some op but not for £140! I got them online ( was a while ago, cannot remember site, sorry. They are very narrow around the calf. I bought a size up and they were fine though (I used to have big calf muscles) but since I've put on weight they don't really fit.
