Am currently wearing Gap and Next (not both at the same time obv!), however they're desperatly in need of replacing.

Years ago (when it was all green fields round here) you'd wear Levis or nothing - what are the makes today?

At the moment have one pair of.........Asda jeans that fit and am in desperate need of some new jeans and trousers so am going to scour this thread with interest.

Has anyone else lost lots of confidence since babies?
I have about 5 gorgeous skirts that fit, mostly new, after dd2 am totally different size.
Every time i put one all i feel great and then bottle it and put on raggy jeans for School run!

TinyGang · 04/10/2005 20:25

Ikwym Angeliz. I have found though that the day comes when you do want to wear a nice skirt or whatever for the school run, and everyone makes such a big deal of noticing and complimenting that it get very . Especially as they say quickly as an after-thought - 'um..not that you don't always look nice!'. Not sure if that's good for the confidence or not.

diesel -- expensive but they last for ever and look fab... when I get down to a size 30, intend to treat myself to 3 new pairs!!

bunny2 · 05/10/2005 15:48

I'd love Diesel, how do the sizes work? And do they do long (33" or 34")?

hornbag · 05/10/2005 17:34

Gap Long and Lean -sizing is perfect for me (are the US sizes "inbetween" UK sizes IYSWIM - their size 6 seems to be between a UK 10 and 12?) .
Have also just bought some Miss Sixty but not had chance to wear them yet so not sure whether they are as comfortable.

bunny2 -- my diesel jeans are 34 long and they come longer than that ... if only my legs were!!

spidermama · 05/10/2005 20:34

As of yesterday's shopping trip the answer to this is Punky Fish.

crazydazy · 05/10/2005 20:39

I like Diesel jeans too, although I don't own any I have tried to convince DP that good quality jeans last for years but he wasn't having any of it.

Top shop jeans are okay tho and reasonably priced.

teeavee · 05/10/2005 20:59

I'm currently wearing Kookai jeans which I liked in the shop but have now decied are abit cheap-looking and too big around the waist. they're also too 'fashion' for me really, but were a bargain in the summer sales.
My favourite pair are Diesel - it is true, they really do last so well - and levi's (507) which are flattering on the old lardy-bum.

teeavee · 05/10/2005 21:00

my diesels only cost about £45, 5 years ago (in the sale) and still look about the same. good design.

dinny · 05/10/2005 21:01

I love Miss Selfridge jeans, v flattering.

Also have fab pair of Diesel and also Miss Sixty (from my sister) but can't get fat arse into them atm.
