how best to look after Uggs?

I had a pair of ugg - a - likes from barratts that I bought 3 years ago for dog walking /generaly scruffy-ness that were only 24 quid but were suede rather than the crappy fabric that the cheap ones seem to be these days and they lasted and lasted and have only just sucummed to squishy heels syndrome.......
I thought they were so ugly when I got them and only intended on wearing them when we were toilet training our puppy and was out in the yard in middle of night, and for early morning walks with the pup (ie when noone was going to see me!!!) Anyway I got used to wearing them and loved how comfy and snuggly they were so ended up wearing them to death.......

Anyway seeing as can find a reasonably priced suede (rather than fabricy stuff) replacement have decided I might as well get the branded ones and hope that the extra money is worth it and that they'll last - so Ugg wearers - how do you reccommend I look after them to keep them looking their best and also will they be ok in snow and stuff if I use the water repellent stuff you get in the care kit???

TIA :o

My dd has black uggs and even though they had been sprayed with protector they were ruined by wearing them in the snow last year. Luckily a turn in the washing machine revived them.

i have choc brown that i forgot to scotch guard. have since used a suede cleaner which helped a bit but not brilliantly when they got wet last year.

if i do put them in the machine is it a wool wash with a little detergent and where is the best place for them to dry?

TIA and sorry for hijack Wink

I put them on a delicate wash with normal fairy non-bio and some softener. I did an extra spin when they finished and then put them on an airer to dry. It really does work - I was a bit nervous doing it for the first time but as dd wouldn't wear her boots any more as they looked so manky it was worth the risk, and fortunately it turned out very well. Have since done my brown bearpaws and they are looking good too.
