In your opinion. :) I want some that come up quite high and look good but are also really sturdy. (We've got a lot of mud here in the spring.)

My best wellies are ones I got cheaply from a horse auction. No frills, black robust ones.

Hunters are shit IMO

mucker boots are great depending on depth of mud or water. Mine are from derby house.

Shock at what some people spend on wellies - £15 dunlops and I live in the country and have to visit farms etc for my work

Aigle. Grin

Aigle or Le Chameau. Hunters are freezing, slippery and fall apart if they see mud.

  • high-fives whoever said Aigle Parcours -

Right back atcha ! Grin

pantaloons · 08/01/2011 22:15

Dunlop are always a good bet, but avoid Hunters like the plague. They fall apart within weeks.

Came on to say Muckboots but see I've been beaten to it by lots of people ! Derwent ones gave been very grippy in snow, are warm and very comfy.

hephaestus, ROFL with your delightful summing it all comment "Hunters fall apart if they ever see mud". They are such a rip off, especially now being made in China and half of the sold boots apparently get returned. Got my Aigle Parcours ISO in the post and will walk a lot in them. Farewell to cold feet and welcome to ten years of solid battering. Now, the French used to be (apparently) famous for some unsavoury things but they've beaten the English to Welly making.
