My skin needs a microdermabrasion but cant afford it right now. what to do instead?

Winter skin-ick! My hormones must be wacky because my skin feels terrible. Not like teenager pimples, just yucky skintone, sort of spotty sort of blotchy. And winter skin shows every imperfection. Not smooth and luxurious like I want it! (Right.) What do I do?

I concur with all the exfoliation advice. Daily exfoliation for the last 30 years means my skin is very smooth and wrinkle free. I just use cheapies eg St Ives or Clearasil blackhead scrub. Also - drink shed loads of water - 2 litres a day.
