I've just returned some of a sales order which only arrived with them today becuase of the bank holidays. They sent me an email saying that the £115 that they owed me was going to be an account credit rather than being refunded to my credit card. They tried to tell me that I had returned it after 7 days. I reminded them that as they had no proof of when my parcel had arrived, and that under the distance selling regs i had 7 working days ( of which there haven't been many recently!) that I would like them to refund it on to my credit card. Of course they said that " on this occasion" they would refund it. Bastards. Watch out for this.

Slow - Useful thing to do when returning items within the 7 days, especially at v busy postal times like Christmas, is to ring them the day you are posting the item and they will put a note on their records that the items are being posted back to them on that partiucular date. Therefore if there's any delays in them receiving the items back over and above the 7 days, due to the busy post etc, then they will still refund you the money as opposed to putting a credit on your account. (After all, You want your money back not a credit!!)

I've always found their Customer Service to be nothing but helpful..

It just annoyed me, that they did this in a underhand way, when clearly at christmas their order would have been late getting here and getting back. Its ot as if I didn't keep anything from them. Good Idea for the future though. The girl i spoke to was a little bit snide about it all really.

You only have to return items within 7 days, it's irrelevant when the company receives them. As long as you have a proof of posting from the Post Office with the date you posted them back then you're in the right.
