I got a lovely purple scarf for xmas. it's a square one, crinkle type material. How to I tie it?

I have lots of them this year. Great for keeping warm. Tbh, I think how you wear them varies from scarf to scarf and I just tie according to how the particular scarf looks best. Some I wear quite long, others I sort of tie in a bow (this is my favourite way to wear them). I find that my straighter, flat scarves generally look best worn looped round neck whilst the floaty/crinkled ones look better tied and or put in a bow.

I don't like that way which most people knot scarves (that loop and pull the end through).

I generally wrap it round my neck and tie loosely at thr front. If it is a narrow scarf i may wear it tied like a man's tie.

That loop and pull the end through looks wrong on me. I have big chest so I don't really want to add bulk to that area.
I'll try the bow idea!

Check out these Liberty videos on how to tie a scarf - they're great and there's loads of different ways.

Here's one to get started -

Thanks so much for posting that link, coastgirl!! I've watched all of them, and they're brilliant! I'm a bit of a 'scarf-aholic' - at least I now have some ideas of how to wear them in different ways - the plait one is so different, I've never seen anything like it!! - thanks again!!

Wear scarves to keep warm. So many lovely fashions, as advised

All the rest, when not in winter, look sooooo middle-aged.

I am middle-aged and loathe the scarf as accessory doing nothing shite.

It's the waterfall cardigan of the 55+, i.e it appears to be distracting attention from fat-ass/wrinkly neck, but it doesn't. Fucking awful.

Im sorry echt I don't agree at all. Scarves are a great cheap way to make an outfit more individual, some of my favourites are ones I've got in charity shops for 50p. I think most mature women who where them look great at least it shows one has made An effort and that they care about their appeArance
