How oh how do I do this?! Can't get the even or straight. Currently look like I've let toddler loose on my face with the liquid eyeliner!

I start in the middle of the eyelid and go out, then a second stroke across the whole eyelid to tidy up any shakes, flicking out at the end.

I found the secret was a good brush and a gel eyeliner. Mac does both.

Oh, and try resting your elbows on the table.

Yes, I second MAC Fluidline and a slanted brush.

The elbow tip worked a treat. Thanks for your help.

Try doing it with your eye open if you can. The lid will be more taut so won't drag. Also, do the most difficult side first as it will be easier to match up the other side.

Start from about a third along the lash working outwards and then do the inner corner when there is less product on the brush. Another tip is to release the pressure of the brush on the skin as you go out towards the point. Failing that, some people find it easier to start the "tick" from the outside and bring the liner in to meet the corner of the eye where you have top lined to. This way you can decide where you want the tick to end and take it inwards from there.

yy to good brush. It is worth the extra money.

I use Bobbi Brown gel liner, but for a month or so after buying it (& using old random brush left from something else) I thought it was shit and couldn't understand why every single person in the universe thought it was amazing. Then I for some reason shelled out for the brush, and hey presto, all good.
