It's odd, the Clinique stuff is really harsh and sometimes stings when I put it on but when I don't use it I get spots. Go figure Grin

ooh good luck carlosss! I think it'll work great for him. it cleared up all the blackheads on my nose, I used to use those biore strips and now don't need them

For skin care, defo agree with the acne.org regimen on AnyFuleKno's thread link. ie. gentle face wash, non-comedogenic (non-pore blocking) moisturiser and benzyl peroxide cream/gel applied liberally. Lot's of bp was the most effective thing.
For most people hopefully this will clear the spots.

This worked to a certain extent for me, but didn't clear my skin. A good skin care regimen treated the 'symptom' (the spots), but not the cause of the spots.

Without wanting to sound like a nutcase, there are theories about leaky gut/intestinal permeability, inflammatory responses, hormones, gluten, probiotics etc. I have a scientific background and job so hopefully I have a fairly sensible view on it all Hmm.
Gawd, it's too early in the morning for my brain, need some coffeeeeeeeeeeee!

PuppyMonkey · 30/12/2010 08:06

I'm with you bethy, try the regimen by all means but I also think there's no harm trying some other stuff to reduce the number of spots you get in the first place! I have no scientific background whatsoever but I know ghat giving up bread made a heck of a difference!

After trying lots of prescription drugs from GP for my acne, I'm having the most success with Burts Bees range for acne. I got it from Boots and it's mainly salicylic acid based but seems to help my skin more than Benzyl Peroxide ever has and without the drying effect.
