I have had a crop before and love the freedom of it but it did divide opinions among my friends and family and I am wibbling so
Pros:
Easy to look after
Would get rid of the dry frizzy ends.
Would actually be a style as opposed to a bleugh.
Have been told by some that it suits me

Cons
I am 46-is it too harsh?
Maintainance- cut every 6 weeks?
I have a low hair line at the back so would need to shave there. I have done this before and it seemed ok but was it?
I am greying and if had short hair would need colouring more often and is that a problem?
My mother will hate it.

You could just have a few low/highlights in? Age has nothing to do with it short hair is youthful, look at Judi Dench et al.

Do you have a recent pic on your profile?

Ignore your mother, mine often comments on my image and I take no notice. I know I'm fabulous Grin

And it will always grow!

FooffyShmoofer · 29/12/2010 16:35

DO IT!

I did it last week from shoulder length (Hair was suffering badly from post baby hormonal nastiness).

I love it. Scary at first but sooo worth it.

Does it suit you? Does it flatter your face shape? Age has nothing to do with it but a sagging jawline might

Ooooh maybe I will try and make an appointment.
no pics on profile but am rather tired looking with fluffy hair Aaargh.

I am 43. I grew mine out last year into a bob after having a crop for basically 20 odd years! I loved it but it was such a pain to dry, I spent hours with the hair straighteners styling it etc. Finally got it cropped again, I LOVE it - no more blow drying, just wash it, leave it to dry, a bit of wax on, and that's it. Also hides the grey more, it seems, than when it was longer. I think very short hair on "older" women can be a bit harsh (judy denchish!) but if you wear a bit of make up that helps. (Yes it does need cutting more often though...)
