Anyone got the Boden cropped cashmere cardi?

I'm not a huge Boden fan (for grown ups - love the kids stuff) but I'm desperate for a cream, fitted, round necked cardi and I saw this.

I really like it but I've got a few questions. Do any clever MNers have the answers?

  1. Lots of the reviews say it's too boxy. What does that mean? Is it not fitted at the waist?
  1. What are the sizes like? I'm usually an 8 but they've only got a 6 in stock. Do they come up big?
  1. Do Boden have further reductions any time soon?

Thanks!

I haven't - but TBH I'd be a little wary of anything that has sooooo much stock showing this late in the sale.
I'm waiting for further reductions on some things too.

I've bought one in pink. I like it. It isn't particularly nipped in at the waist and I think the sizes are a little on the larger size. If you like it to look nipped in I think you'd be fine getting the 6.

I have just sent one back in Pebble colour.
I am an 8-10 in Boden but find their cashmere cardis quite skimpy- I have 2 summer ones- and go up to a 10.
I didn't like this one because the sleeves are 3/4 length and as the cardi is very short it makes the whole thing look as if it has shrunk.
it would be nice over a summer dress etc but i wanted it for winter wear.

it is quite boxy- think straight up and down cut not narrower at waist.
I doubt the 6 would fit you if you nromally wear an 8.

I've got that and like it but agree with Purple its more suitable for summer over a dress or little camisole.

I think the 6 would be worth a try though.

The cashmere is also quite thin - its nowhere near the quality of brora but then is quite a bit cheaper.

I also think their photos are very "deceptive". On the site the model is wearing one which comes well below her waist- if you look carefully i think they have pulled the front edge down so the cardi looks longer. It would really come down to the belt on her dress.

I wanted it to wear with jeans with a cami under, but there was a good 2-3 inch gap between cardi and top of my jeans, and I am only 5' 3.

i have the V neck and it is very short and boxy and i am only 5'1" - it is also lovely and soft and warm - i bought it at a newark sale for £30 and would not have bought it at full price

WhatsWrongWithYou · 22/12/2010 11:49

This is a nice cardi would you believe - looks totally gimpy on that model.

I'm waiting for an exchange as I need a large (usually size 12), but it was what I consider a flattering shape (I'm a short-waisted hourglass).

Merino wool though not cashmere.

Thanks everyone. You've put me right off it!

WWWY, the link just went to the homepage of the Mango website.

I was worried about the cropped sleeves too (not good for winter).

The only other one I've seen that I like is this Monsoon one but it's more than I was planning to spend (having spent the last few weeks forking out for xmas presents and sales "bargains" for myself in equal measure). Maybe I'll wait for the sale.
