here

just linked the above to give an idea of the colours

using a range or dark green light green and teal.

i really like green, had thought of doinf a green and brown scheme, but thought maybe the brown could make it look at bit dull iyswim

out downstairs to totally blank at the moment plain white walls , light wood floors, white in the kitchen.
we want to add a bit of colour and life to it now

I like most of the colours except the lime green. I'd replace it with a milky coffee colour. I have a similar colour scheme in my kitchen and it looks great.

Keep lots of sparkle and texture too!

carriedaxmaspud · 16/12/2010 11:29

thanks for your ideas, oh i'd love to see a picture if you have one.

i need a bit of help doing this.

i have also thought of doing everything multi coloured

I was beginning to feel horribly inadequate though - thought this was yet another aspect of Style & Beauty that I was horribly neglecting Xmas Wink

I would give you interiors advice, but I am sylistically challenged.

I'd suggest going for a mid teal colour for the walls, maybe having some in cream if that's too much, then the woodwork in a very dark (almost black) greeny blue, which will make your pale wood floor look much brighter than if you had white woodwork.

Pictures framed in a colour similar to your floor, or silver, will look great, and mirrors work well against the teal.

Dunelm Mill had some lovely cushions last time I went - sparkly teal, brown leather or cream faux fur would look good with your scheme.

As for the other 'downstairs' Xmas Wink - I saw a picture once of a woman who had a wizards face tattooed just above her bikini line, so her muff looked like his beard! Maybe you could try that!!! Xmas Grin

carriedaxmaspud · 16/12/2010 18:38

oh thanks for that reply jancie.

well i'm not brave enough to do for a mid teal on the walls as itsa large space and might be too much, but as the light green is my fave i was going to have that as the main colour

heres a couple of things i like in these colours

You could always buy a few accessories and pictures that you like and then pick the best colours and match them with paint swatches. Or make a 'mood board' with pictures of things you like, fabric samples, colours etc. That's how the pros do it - saves time and money on buying lots of matchpots and painting different coloured squares on the wall!!

carriedaxmaspud · 16/12/2010 21:28

thanks janice i might make two mood boards as i have 2 ideas in mind

1 the lime dk green and teal
2 multicoloured brights
