Drapey cardigan - ok for a size 16 (my mum!)

Gift specification from my mother is:

A black drapey/waterfall-ish cardigan (to go over a purple top and green skirt).

I am not at all convinced of the wisdom of black but she is adamant about the colour.

Am a size 8-10 myself and have no idea what would suit her and look nice without being frumpy.

I have found this in Esprit which fits all the criteria (cotton too - she can't wear wool).

What would this look like on a size 16 35 year-old woman?

oh great the link doesn't work;

If anyone can be bothered, would any of the "long cardigans" work for a size 16 (around 5ft 4).

Link keeps going to short cardigans but the long ones are in the left-hand menu...

Waterfallish cardigans look awful on bigger women (I speak as a size 16).

That's what I'm worried about Libra - was sure I had read that on mn somewhere!

Thanks Cybil - that's very similar to a couple on the Esprit site (am in France).
