How should this outfit go, please?

I have a silvery grey short mini dress and am going out this weekend; bare legs not an option (cold and I have apsoriasis flare up). I plan to wear silvery grey heled calf boots so should I wear

grey leggings
black leggings
grey thick tights
black tights (only pair I have has a rear seam, only OK if flare up has flared down!)

Don't want to look like Peter Pan's grey cousin (!)

I would go for the black tights or leggings (or a pair of Merino wool tights from MandS in 'Graphite' - a very, very dark grey).

The ones I have sound like that actually- very dark grey, might dig them out thanks.
