ebaying undies

Hello, namechange here to save my dignity.

I have hit hard times and the only thing I can ebay is my posh underwear, bought for me by an ex-suitor. It's top stuff, Agent Provocateur, Damaris etc.

Most of it never worn, but I foolishly removed the tags.

Will I still be able to get a good price for it on ebay, selling it as 'unworn', or - and here's the real questions - will I be better off selling it as 'worn' as I hear some people like to buy worn stuff, if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance Smile

I'd save it and eBay it in the run up to Valentines day - mark it as BNWOT - brand new without tags. If the stuff is in a mainstream size I think you will get decent prices.

OTH you could research the end prices for the worn stuff - I thought it was against eBay rules to sell worn underwear, but I have seen stuff like this listed in an 'adult' context, so don't know if it just slips through the net or what. I've often wondered about doing it myself, (for the money!) but don't want to compromise my unblemished eBay account as I do a lot of normal clothes selling - I would create a new eBay identity for those kinds of listings if I did.

Thanks Phatcat, good advice there - fab advice actually!

while I'm here, can any one recommend another site where I can sell underwear?

OP posts:
HelenRosie · 05/12/2010 14:03

ebare.co.uk for the used ones

sellingmescanties · 05/12/2010 14:20

OMG!

Good prices though, I am so hard up, I am tempted.

Can I sell on an adult site and not put a sleazy pic up?

Do I wear them, sell them and not wash them?

DO I want to get involved in this??

So many questions

well that's an education! will bookmark for when times get hard. ROFL at 'sniff & wank package'!!
Looking at the listing prices on that site I reckon you'd do better on eBay OP.

sellingmescanties · 05/12/2010 14:32

So if I sell on ebay, mark as 'BNWOT' I should get a few quid?

They're mostly in sets (bra and knicks), so do you think I'd be better off selling as a set or individually?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm new to the world of knicker selling

OP posts:
phatcat · 05/12/2010 15:55

well there's no guarantee but good quality clothes incl. underwear does sell on eBay. I regularly buy Freya bras from there and they usually goes to 2/3 of full price. Put BNWOT and brand name in listing title as that is what gets searched. I would sell in sets, thought it does mean that someone has to match your size in two places rather than just one which might cut down the market. Do you know how to research previous end prices - do 'advanced search' and tick 'completed listings'.
I find the biggest factors in achieving a good end price are end time of listing - Sunday evening completion by far the best and seasonality of clothes. IMO I wouldn't list any clothes now until 3rd/4th week in January as most people will be spending their money on other things for the next few weeks and won't be getting paid again until end of Jan. HTH

HelenRosie · 05/12/2010 16:00

Agent Provocateur has very good sales in January though so might not be the best time to sell yours.

sellingmescanties · 05/12/2010 16:19

Amazing tips Phatcat and HelenRosie - thank you.

I'm going to hold off selling the fancy stuff until Valentine's is approaching

Am still a bit tempted (money-wise) to find a way of selling it used on a fetish site, but am worried about pictures etc. I wish there was a reputable one to sell through.

Thanks again all

I'm not sure I believe brand new without tags for any item of clothing if i'm honest, with under wear i'd want to see the tags, the hygiene strip in place at the very very least.

mamatomany · 05/12/2010 16:25

PMSL at reputable fetish sites - where would be the fun in that ?

sellingmescanties · 05/12/2010 16:42

ha ha mamatomany - indeed!

Thinking about it, I wouldn't buy knickers if they didn't have a tag either.

I'm stuck as to what to do!

I really do have loads of the stuff and it's got to be worth something it's just how to do the alchemy and turn it into cash.

Has anyone ever sold knickers BNWOT on ebay?
Or has anyone here ever sold their worn knickers to a pervy type?

Genuine question coming from genuine debt

I have sold used knickers in the past. You don't need to put a pic of yourself up to do it. To be honest though, Agent Provocateur is too good for that. Multipacks from Primark will maximise your profits if that's the route you want to go down.

whomovedmychocolate · 05/12/2010 17:24

I am stunned there is a site to sell old scanties! Shock

LadyBuzz · 05/12/2010 18:01

you can't sell used underwear on ebay, i tried with re usable nappies Hmm and they were removed due to hygiene reasons.
I would def list as BNWOT or ebay will block the listing.

geordieminx · 05/12/2010 19:03

Oh my good god.

I had a look on ebare. I soooooo wish I hadn't.

Women selling pictures of themselves, for £5 for 10 pictures. There are pictures of women removing tampons and with speculums for sale, again for £5.

Why oh why would you do that.

(((((feels quite sick))))))

whomovedmychocolate · 05/12/2010 20:38

Eewww there is an ahem lady selling an offer to insert any item of food into herself, take photos of it and send them to you. Eeeeewwwww.

geordieminx · 05/12/2010 20:54

I honestly thought I was very open minded, and have done a lot of things I certainly wouldn't want my mother knowing about, but Christ I can't believe there is women willing to do this, to put pictures up and to sell, in some cases dozens of pictures of themselves for the cost of a magazine.

Worse than prostitution in my eyes.

NetworkGuy · 09/01/2011 23:29

You may be pleased to know that ebare.co.uk was not renewed (renewal date was 01/12/2010) so looks as if the site has died a death anyway.

olive07 · 10/01/2011 10:20

I've sucessfully sold agent p underwear on ebay, (worn!) what sizee is it all, I'm back in the market for posh pants!
