Don't think this is going to be a very helpful comment but I've worked in the Beauty industry for 11 years and have never heard of it?!

So I'm thinking it's either so new and trendy that it's not mainstream yet and hasn't had much editorial in mags or it's not that good and therefore isn't being talked about nor stocked very widely.

What sort of price point is it? Will sisters know the brand and therefore appreciate it?

gregssausageroll · 04/12/2010 08:39

Its ok. They are trying to compare themselves to Bobbi Brown but are no where near.

That said, i bought the set on offer as it had a kabuki brush which is pretty good.

The lippies are pretty good but I don't use all of the colours.

Its not bad but not BB or the premium ranges.

I'd say it depends on the people you are giving gifts to - (hopefully this doesn't sound rude) but if the recipients are used to non premium brands they will possibly be quite impressed. If they are uses to high end stuff they might notice that its not as good.

For the price, I don't think you can go wrong as it is well packaged and you do get a lot for your money.

Thanks
The gifts are stocking type budget gifts really for the girls and as it is not foundations which I feel you should spend the money on I felt with the bag and brushes make it worth buying and splitting up, I am also a person who dumps make up after 6 months so never uy Bobbi Brown etc for shadows or lippy.
Might go have another look The girls wear L'oreal or MAC

They're somewhat close to a scam, I'm afraid. they claim to be a big name when they try and get people to buy it in shopping centres but the products are not great (have a look on MoneySavingExpert's forum. If you want to get it because you like it, fine, but judge it on its own merits.

I was stopped in the street near work (nowhere close to a department store) by someone trying to sell me the stuff. That made me a bit suspicious.

Ok thank you I might have to re think Smile

Like I said, if it's nice, then go ahead. But I think if the girls are used to MAC then they'll see a difference (MAC shadows are very pigmented)

I know this is an old thread, but I got a kit from my MIL for Xmas. She told me she paid £25 for it. It is shit and I hate the fact that she thinks it is brilliant and keeps asking me how much I like it. It is all pearly eyeshadow and orange bronzer, fine if you like that but I am quite pale and usually just use eyeliner, mascara and concealer.

She is a lecturer in Hair and Beauty so she ought to know her stuff. She uses Lancome and Elizabeth Arden and woe betide anyone who gets her the wrong stuff.

To be honest, I thought initially that she got it from Costco and can't have spent more than a few quid on it. I also really hated the fact that it comes with a booklet that explains how to put makeup on. I would have loved it when I was 14 but I am 33 and tbh it made me think she's been judging how I apply my makeup.

Gah. Now I'm just an ungrateful bitch. I love my MIL, really I do, but I wish she'd just drop it. I am a shit liar and she keeps putting me on the spot. In front of people.

This should be in relationships or AIBU, sorry. Feel better now.Blush
