If thats not a really bad idea - has anyone seen a nice one anywhere.

Mini-kilts???? (or kilt style skirts!)

Like in the 80s???????

Yeah, baby! Where can I get one?

Is 42 too old for a mid-thigh length one with black tights and boots?

I am slim and size 8 so do you think I could get away with it or is just too sad???

kizzie · 30/11/2010 14:24

I have one - the sort you get in Scotland, lots of pleats across the back, leather straps and a kilt pin - 99p on ebay. This winter I'm wearing it with a black jumper from Sainsburys and long black boots.

BelligerentGhoul · 30/11/2010 15:10

M&S actually have a couple of really cute kilts at the moment - mini but not too mini. I am seriously tempted.

BelligerentGhoul · 30/11/2010 15:12

This is the one I liked in store.

BelligerentGhoul · 30/11/2010 15:14

here too.

Love this but maybe a bit too school uniform-ish?

Ooopsadaisy · 30/11/2010 15:15

Oh I'm re-living my youth!!

Sherbert dips!

Adam Ant!

Glenn Hoddle and Chris Waddle singing on TOTP!

Stripey legwarmers!

Snogging with boy next door by the garage block - yyyyyeeeeeeuuuuuugggggghhhhhh - that's spoilt it - I feel violently ill now.

What top to wear with a mini-klit - any ideas???

kizzie - I'm in the Midlands - we're a bit stylistically challenged around here but I'll try anything.

BelligerentGhoul · 30/11/2010 15:17

I used to wear my mini-kilts with black opaques and DMs. What would one wear on feet now, do you think?

Ooopsadaisy · 30/11/2010 15:32

Did I just put klit instead of kilt?

I am soooooo embarrassed.

Am I confused? Am I looking for a klit or a kilt?

Is this where I've been going wrong all these years?

kizzie · 30/11/2010 15:39

Boots I think (on your feet)

I really like the grey autograph one - even if it is a bit uniformy

That's a relief....I thought it was just me hankering after a kilt.

One of the young things at work wears one and looks very cool.

There's a company called Ness that sells some lovely wooly tartan numbers (in cure colours)...really quite mini, but still respectable with tights I think!

Love that M and S grey one, very chic!

higgle · 03/12/2010 07:28

The M&s ones don't have the pleated backs that swing out when you walk or dance ( quite sexy in a way) I'd try a traditional supplier for that.

GilliVanilli · 23/01/2011 15:07

Hi Kizzie, I don't know whether you have found your kilt/skirt yet but a good place to look is the scotweb site. They have a good selection from mini to long. They may be a bit pricier than the high street version but they are made with more cloth and hence deeper pleats.

by the way if you visit this site first www.xmarksthescot and then click the link to the scotweb website, you will be eligible for a 10% discount!

I love the clothes from Ness. The minikilts look gorgeous but are all dry clean only. As my 3 year old DS2 manages to cover all my clothes with yoghurt I didn't think it was the right choice for me. I do however have both a coat and a jacket from Ness. They are very warm, well made and just a little bit different from most of the stuff on the high street without being at all stuffy.
