Do you think people visibly age more between 40-50 than between other decades?

Inspired by another thread I'm wondering what people think?

I think it's quite hard to be precise about age below 40 but once someone gets towards 50 you can definitely say they're over 40 - maybe Confused

I look older than I did 15 years ago but not radically so - with highlighter and soft lighting I could still just about pass for 25 ish Hmm

Thanks Maud for your thread.I think i have to start saving by the time i'll be 35,to consider a botox.

I think I have to agree about the 41/42 I am a few months short of 42 and seriously was looking in the mirror a couple of months back, turned my face and shrieked in horror

  • what on earth happened to my neck?!!!

wrinkles not too bad but definitely lack of firmness issues about

muminlondon · 27/11/2010 23:27

It's the need for reading glasses after decades without specs that bothers me. And the fact that it is worse at certain times of the month.

preciousmum, I've got a few wrinkles since having the kids, I'm 30 this year. Treat yourself to a book called The BEauty MYth before you consider getting botox or anything.
Honestly, reading that book has been the best beauty boost EVER. I wish I'd read it when I was 20. YOu will realise how gorgeous you are afterwards Smile

I'm a few months short of 43 and I don't think I've changed much in the past ten years. I fear I will wake up one morning and it will all have caught up with me overnight Shock

On my 38th birthday, a colleague asked me if I was 28. People think I must have had my children very young as DD1 is 13. My plastic surgeon friend says I'd easily pass for 35 (he also says there three main factors in how your looks age - sun, smoking and genetics).

Not at all sure how long this can last...though I honestly think that not drinking or smoking helps.

The pic on my profile was taken last month, btw.

I'm 50 next year! Bloody hell, how did that happen. I think that women age more over 50. I don't look too bad atm but carn't see that lasting much longer, gawd I'm depressed now.

lilac, you look amazing

Lilac I'm 30 and wish I looked as young as you! Please put a pic of you after no sleep, a hangover and no make-up on?!

I sunbathed loads until recently , I do look after my skin, currently slathered in Nivea, I don't smoke - I hope it works. I do see schoolmates on Fbook who look ten years older than I do, which makes me very happy.
