So. I have just below chin length curly hair, white blonde full head. Roots now a mix of brown and grey, about an inch. (Have had Brazilian blow dry so cdn't get them done before). Definitely do not want to cut hair.
But - was dark brown, went white blonde (via highlights) to get used to grey coming in (about 50:50)
Now - do not want to carry on ruining my hair (and bank balance), don't know what to do. Cannot live with this level of maintenance. Help!

More natural highlights mixed in with coppers to break it up a bit and look more natural?

Thank you - I want to get back to not having to do much maintenance, so that might work.

that's kind of how I was thinking, but what about the bleached blonde?

natural colour

that's what I want to get back to, but I can't live with bleached blonde ends, and grey brown roots !

grumpy I did the same and lived with horrible roots for aages, and eventually I bit the bullet and had it all cut off. I'm now growing it longer and I can't believe it but I'm contemplating highlighting it again. It looks just so dull in winter. But highlighting ends up as block colour which is really high maintenance!

OMG that sounds so familiar. If i cut it off it's going to be a relief but very ageing - I'm 37. Just wish grey was acceptable for women!

If you have white blonde hair I would recommend getting the colour change done professionally, at least the first time. If you are planning to go brown you will need to start off by getting some red pigment back into your hair first otherwise your hair will go a greenish shade if you put a brown straight onto the blonde! I'm sure this isn't the look you are hoping for.

Also, think about whether this will put you back to square one. If you are planning to grow out your natural grey then going back to your natural colour will mean you are either then going to have to grow out your very visible grey roots or cut it very short when you decide to stop colouring it completely.

[havingkittens] no, not the right 'look' at my age!
I know - I want to sort of blend in the blonde with grey/ brown. In a cool way....
