jeans for muffin top apples?

I am a relatively slim apple, but an apple nonetheless. I have a real muffin top with jeans and unless I wear a tent on my top half I have the two tummies effect coupled with visible bulk from the top of the jeans. I have a pair of "house-only" tracksuit bottoms that come up to my waist and really grip me in and actually give me shape. Are there any jeans out there that do the same thing? Stylish ones, not ones that make you look like frump-central. Or jeggings that are actually made from real denim and don't make you look like you've had your legs sprayed a strange blue? The only thing I have found are jeans from M&S designed for old dears that have such high pockets at the back that they make your backside look 3 times the size it is. There must be something. I am prepared to chuck money at it!

New Look Hula jeans are good and not expensive

wools · 22/11/2010 12:13

Next high-waisted skinny jeans are very good for muffin tops. They are only £24.99 too.

Paige denim's Hidden Hills jeans claim to be just the thing - John Lewis sells Paige, I think.

Sounds like I'm a similar shape to you - have got 2 pairs of superskinny jeans from Next this year - only £24 each, do exactly what you require, and are great for tucking into boots. If you're more than 5'3" though, it might be worth going for the long leg if you're planning to wear them with shoes because they're quite short in the leg. Like I said, good for boots, but tried mine with heels and floaty top for going out on Saturday - they were just a tiny bit too short - looked ok with ballet flats though.

i have a couple of pairs of jeans from fat face and they come up quite high. Also topshops baxter jeans came quite high and very comfy, these are my 'best' jeans, i do find they stretch and bag after a day though, but good for night out etc.

I've not tried the next skinnys but their other styles were slightly higher but i found them a little mumsy if i'm honest, they also do a high waisted bootcut pair, truely mumsy.

New look don't do hula anymore except in the + sizes, shame as they were fab, haven't found anything else as flttering but currently wearing gap curvy flare ith.

Gap Long and Lean. Name is misleading, they are "long" becuase they a mid-rise rather than more normal low rise, and they are fab for apple muffins.

I am the same and have just bought a pair of Levi's from the US. I don't know if you can get them here but they are 512 and are called Perfectly Slimming, they are high waisted and are very comfy...they have a slimming panel in the tummy apparently!

Brilliant ideas thanks! Love the sound of the 'hidden hills' jeans. Will google.

Will venture out to Topshop and Next and have a rummage.

I have a pair of Gap long and lean - and they are not quite 'long' enough on the waist for me. The whole apple muffin thing is compounded by the fact I have a high waist too. Sigh.

I have just bought a pair of Dorothy Perkins black skinny jeans. Not too skinny (I'm size 12, but my legs are definitely not skinny) and pretty high waisted. Really like them.

talkingnonsense - oh no! I didn't know that! poo

talkingnonsense · 23/11/2010 12:55

Yes, I was gutted- their new range don't fit me at all(bootcut are too tight on the leg and loose on the waist and I am apple shaped!). Has anyone any other suggestions?
