do not go as cruella, when i had htis party theme i was one of 20

olderandwider · 16/11/2010 16:45

Bunnyboiler - vampy dress, saucepan, soft toy. Sorted.

geraldinetheluckygoat · 16/11/2010 17:46

Stealth - Fortunately, no. My dh does not look like David Cameron. He looks more like Jarvis Cocker I'm afraid.....Grin
Ormirian, get yourself invited to DH's works do, its a veritable Free For All this year apparently!

Bunny Boiler! Hahaha! good one!

Oh Grin Somalian Pirate!! ROBERT MUGABE?!?! Very funny suggestions!! JaniceSoprano, I am loving all of your hillarious yet frankly ridiculous suggestions.......I cant see the woman with hair in your link though.

On Janice's link, I DID spot Sarah Connor....I could run around in jeans and a vest top, doing pull ups on things and muttering menacingly, "Men like you built the bomb" at DH's boss...

OP posts:
StealthPomBear · 16/11/2010 17:52

ooh ooh do you look like michael jackson?

geraldinetheluckygoat · 16/11/2010 17:53

Just remembered Im shit at pull ups (hence why I am size sixteen). That puts a spanner in the works with Sarah Connor suggestion. Bum.

geraldinetheluckygoat · 16/11/2010 17:56

Stealth.....NO!

I have been likened to both Valma from ScoobyDoo...and the woman who sings "I'ts got to be perfect" in Fairground Attraction...though thats generous I think....

Why can't you go as Velma? I went to a fancy dress Heros and Villains party for halloween and someone came as Velma- no one had to ask who she was!

JaniceSoprano · 16/11/2010 19:03

I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW
go as DIANA IN HEAVEN

geraldinetheluckygoat · 16/11/2010 21:22

Janice. Now you're just being silly Wink
Diana in heaven!

For shits sakes. DH has come home today and tells me it is Superheroes or villians from comics only (he works in Geekville internet gaming land).

I will refuse to go if it involves brighly coloured lycra or shiny leotards. Fucking Hell.

OP posts:
JaniceSoprano · 16/11/2010 21:23

Do you really want to go? Why not just go in normal clothes

twoboots · 16/11/2010 21:27

Sarah palin?
Just slap on a red jacket and get a blow dry.

geraldinetheluckygoat · 16/11/2010 21:32

Shall I? Shall I just veto the fancy dress part?

OP posts:
DoodlingPomBear · 16/11/2010 21:33

You could go as mr kidd who looks a little like velma and dh as mr wint

or have a look for inspiration on this page Rosal Klebb and Blofeld?

can you tell I am on a theme? Grin

JaniceSoprano · 16/11/2010 21:35

If bung on a cat ear headdress and go as a woman who is a cat

FairyLightsForever · 16/11/2010 21:40

Velma is mentioned here, ovbiously there was a Scooby Doo comic here (you may need to scroll down the page to find her) the comic was published by DC Comics.

geraldinetheluckygoat · 16/11/2010 21:48

LOL Doodlingpombear!! Mr Kidd DOES look a little like Velma!

I think It would be excellent to go as Velma. Plus, dh would just have to wear practically his normal clothes and everything to look like Shaggy Hmm. He's being annoying about the whole thing. which is making me feel bloody minded about going as velma....

OP posts:
thumbwitch · 16/11/2010 21:50

Or you could stick to Velma, which is actually the best idea but if your DH is going to sulk about it...

FairyLightsForever · 16/11/2010 21:57

What does he want to go as? You don't have to go as part of the same comic, do you?

JaniceSoprano · 16/11/2010 23:12

Lots of velmas too. Cruella and velma

FairyLightsForever · 16/11/2010 23:36

How about Minnie Mouse? Red polka dot dress, red shoes, black card ears and a bow on a hairband... {grin]

FairyLightsForever · 16/11/2010 23:40

oh poo, just realised I've got carried away with the comic bit and forgot about the hero/villain bit Blush

GetOrfMoiLand · 16/11/2010 23:51

Lol at JaniceSopranon - 'go as Heather Mills, or your mum (cuts both ways)'

geraldinetheluckygoat · 17/11/2010 09:45

hahaha! Fairylights, no worries, minnie was a good idea...she is heroic in the eyes of preschoolers....

Well, if it MUST be heroes from comics, I think the Alter Ego idea from Thumbwitch is a good idea...I have a navy blue mac I could wear, with a shirt and sensible skirt, sensible hair and maybe a neckerchief (I just wanted to say "neckerchief" really!) or pearls. I have clonky blue heels, brought in a New Years Eve panic from Asda when I forgot to take my shoes to a party...Ill wear those too.

Then I wont actually have to buy anything....

OP posts:
geraldinetheluckygoat · 17/11/2010 09:47

Oh, Fairylights, I would LOVE to wear a fifties dress....AND my dressmaker friend who makes them for a living promised to make me one in return for a favour i did her a while back

QUICK THINK OF A HERO OR VILLIAN IN A FIFTIES PROM DRESS!!!
