Just started to wear makeup again - what do I need?

Bought Diorskin Nude as recommended here and love it

I've just had my hair coloured a shade darker than my own (medium brown to dark - it looks okay honestly) from blonde so I'm thinking a sort of berry lip colour and maybe a stronger-than-neutral eye-shadow...

mascara.
my minimal make uo look is
tinted moisturiser
plum eye liner
bronzer/high lighter
and mascara

and aloe vaseline for the lips of course

Would it be worth having a mini makeup session to get some tips on latest colours/techniques etc?

IMO SpaceNK is one of the best places as it's free, they employ professional make up artists and they are impartial to brands so they use products of many brands which will genuinely suit your skin.

One of the worst makeovers I've ever had was at MAC (and I paid £25 for the priviledge), I truely looked like a clown.

I use the following each day:

Origins Dr Weil eye serum
Origins Dr Weil face serum
Origins Dr Weil face cream
Guerlain Face Bronzer
Rimmel London Blusher [a pink colour]
Rimmel mascara
Rimmel eye liner
YSL Touche Eclat

I tend to spend more on skin care bronzer and concealer than blusher etc. I always get comments on how natural my make up looks and how my skin glows, but that is because of the Origins stuff I put on before hand, which is like a base for the makeup.

Definitely agree that you should have a make up session at a beauty counter that you like. I am a Clinique fan and have been there lots of times and picked up some good ideas. It is free and there is no hard sell.

I tend to keep my make up bag pretty minimal these days

I moisturise well and then use:
Clinique super double face powder ( I am not a heavy foundation person)
Bourjois Blush (pink)
Maybelline XXL masacara in black
Vaseline tinted lip gloss or a cinique lip gloss.

I also have a couple of Bourjois eye shadow pots in brown and grey.

Glad you like the Diorskin Nude. I'm slightly fanatical about it. I don't think I will ever try another foundation again ( and I've tried many ).

My everyday make up is Diorskin Nude, Benefit Coralista blusher, or one of the Top Shop cream to powder Blushers ( it's the only thing I really rate from Top Shop ). Benefit Boing concealer, Mac eyeshadow applied with a flat brush as eyeliner, and a Mac lipstick or lipgloss. The pro longwear line is good from Mac. I use a a natural lip colour during the day.

Funnily enough when I was buying the Diorskin my DD aged ten was enthusing about the products and asking the assistant if she could come for a trial before the year Six Prom.

Another good place to have a session is Bobbi Brown, I think. Great for a 'natural' look but also plenty of berry shades, etc for lips and big choice of eyeshadows.

Bobbi Brown make-up is gorgeous, pricey but lasts so well. Their make-up brushes are on my xmas list!
