Awful skin post-pregnancy

Hi, can anyone help? My DS2 is 8 months and the skin on my face is awful! I'm breastfeeding, so I know hormones are still raging, and I'm exhausted so that can't be helping, but it's starting to get me down.
Anyone had a similar experience and found something to help?
I'm taking DS to the Dr for his 6-9m check on monday so I'll ask her advice then.
Thanks.

Can you get to a Dermalogica salon for a good facial and advice- if nothing else it will make you feel better.
Bastard hormones. I'm in the menopause and have spots like Vesuvious.

Yes, a friend suggested Dermalogica. Thanks. Perhaps I should have explained what I mean by 'awful' too - dry, red, sore, sensitive, spotty, slow to heal... you name it really.

Mine is the same! I nearly started a thread about it. I also noticed this around 6mo after DS was born, and now DD is 6mo it has happened again.

I am also BF, but with DS I had stopped by this point. I speculate it is not to do with BF so much as the fact that all the good-skin-and-hair benefits of pregnancy are finally gone from my system.

I hate being spotty Angry. Pre-children I used to find that evening primrose oil in high doses helped my skin a lot, so I'm starting that again.

It sounds like you are lacking in nutrients maybe? Are you managing to eat properly and take a good BFing vitamin?

What do you use on your face atm? I find that as I get older I need to be more and more careful about what I use on my face - anything too harsh brings me out in all kinds.

I didn't have this with DC1, or before kids, so I guess it's probably to do with age (35) as well as hormones.
I'm using Clarins at the moment, and have for years but thinking of switching to Liz Earle. Might acutally order from QVC and try for a month to see if it makes a difference. Great to be able to send it all back if it doesn't!

I do eat well at mealtimes but I snack lots on sweet things like chocolate, cakes, biscuits. Always have done! But I guess I can't get away with it any longer. As I'm writing this, I'm realising that I know the answer to the problem - diet, sleep and chemicals!

Thanks for your help. Hope the evening primrose helps you pom-bear. It is miserable being spotty. I feel like a teenager again, although without the angst, thankfully!
