Spotty clothes for boys

DS needs to wear something spotty to school next friday for Children in Need. Can't remember ever seeing anything spotty for boys. Work full time and am crap at making things so looking to buy something inexpensive for him to wear. Any ideas? (already got Pudsey ears, but is it cheating to send him in only that?)

Can you not get some round spot stickers and stick them all over a t-shirt for him? Or get a cheap old tshirt and some clothes marking pens and have fun with him covering it in spots?

been through the same thing here, both mine need spotty clothes. got dd stuff from ebay, there's very little for boys, we're covering a t-shirt in fabric pen spots this weekend instead.

the nearest i found for boys was a t-shirt with a target motif on it from boden.

I did think of that but wondered if it was a bit naff! DS is only 4.5 but is very savvy when it comes to clothes - if I need to choose between 2 pairs of shoes I will always ask him rather than DH as he 'knows' what works! I doubt he would wear a t-shirt with stickers on, mind you he might not wear anything with spots on unless he thinks it looks good!

M&S have pj's here which have spotty trousers by the look of it.

dinkystinky · 12/11/2010 13:13

Ah, my DS1 is 4.5 too but if you can sell it to him as a really cool thing to do (as he cant normally do it) would go for decorating his clothes with spots/stickers in a flash...

I've just read this in our newsletter. I know its for a good cause but it just makes me so cross, and I am not even working at the moment.

employmentlawquery · 14/11/2010 18:03

We have some dress up leggings with dalmatian spots in black and white. DS (2 1/2) is going to wear this with a red and yellow guitar applique Tshirt as a sort of 70s glam rock look.

If I had a DD I would also consider purloining a non pink item from a "girl's" range as DS would not be savvy about this.

employmentlawquery · 14/11/2010 18:06

Another idea, DS has the makings of a pirate costume and I have a spotty red silk scarf. The 2 could be combined to give a rather stylish pirate, I think.

I to need some ideas as to where i can buy cheap spotty clothes for school on friday for children in need any ideas ?

sailorsgal · 15/11/2010 20:16

i bought the boys stripey pyjamas at Marks and Spencer.

Iamcountingto3 · 15/11/2010 20:18

At least half of dcs school always go in with hand-spotted items - we go with colouring in round stickers and bunging on a plain top - ds (admittedly, not a stylista) loves doing it Smile

sailorsgal · 15/11/2010 21:00

If I hadn't bought the pyjamas I was just going to buy some stickers and put them on a plain top.

2madboys · 15/11/2010 22:04

Have brought iron on t-shirt transfers that you can print onto. Will be making some spots tonight to put onto plain t shirts.

nappyaddict · 16/11/2010 10:44

sailorsgal Is your DS wearing both the spotty top and bottoms or just one from the set along with "proper" day clothes.

elphabadefiesgravity · 16/11/2010 10:45

I run a children's theatre school and am sending ds in with a spotty clown bow tie from my costume store. Other mums at school are completely stuck.

sailorsgal · 16/11/2010 10:52

nappyaddict He will probably just wear the top though if it was up to him he would wear the whole outfit. Grin

cretevick · 16/11/2010 11:39

Thanks for the suggestions. I have just bought Uhu Textil Colours from John Lewis. A pack of 6 (red, yellow, blue, green, orange & purple) were £4. They work better on already washed clothes so will be ideal on an old t shirt, and they dry within 4-6 hours. And there's no need to iron to seal!:)

nappyaddict · 16/11/2010 12:07

This coat is unisex IMO.

Otherwise you can get spotty socks usually?

littlemisslozza · 16/11/2010 18:25

I'm going to be painting spots onto DS's face, that'll do!
Wish it could be spots or stripes, as stripes would be easy!

nappyaddict · 17/11/2010 02:50

Asda are doing Pudsey tops with him wearing the spotty bandana. here and here

nappyaddict · 17/11/2010 03:17

Oh and Boots have bandanas, ears, badges and wristbands.

sush13 · 28/10/2011 14:06
