Christmas Wedding

BIL wedding 18/12. DH is best man. Have 2 DS age 4.5 & 2.5. Need ideas on what to wear!

Will need to have something that I can move and bend down in as DH is best man so I will need to be able to run after DS1 & 2. Shoes will be an issue as can't sprint in heels but do need some heel as only 5ft tall! Also, I would love to be warm (!)

Have a Ben de Lisi mac that will look great over a dress so coat not an issue but would prefer not to have a strapless dress.

Bridesmaids are wearing an Olive colour so green is out.

I'm a size 12 hourglass, although still a bit self-conscious about the belly area!!

Any ideas?

We got married on that day 6 years ago. We had a fab Xmaas party after! The female guests seemed to be majoring in red velvet (they looked great)

We got married on that day 5 years ago!! Not much advice only that the ladies wore long dresses, plenty of rich jewel colours if I remember rightly and lots of sparkle. My bridesmaids were in a silvery green too.

Unfortunately long dresses (and trousers) are out for me - too short to carry them off well! Have a shopping day planned on Monday but having looked online, I'm worried that I'm going to get frostbite!!

Dark coloured dresses so you can wear thick tights? I think you can get away with not having bare legs at a wedding in December.

What's your budget? Phase 8 have some lovely knee length darker colour dresses at the moment.

Thanks for the link. I would never have thought to look in Phase 8 - some of the dresses are gorgeous and would fit the bill! Just need to be wary about the length of some of them. Such a pain being a short arse when you can throw on a pair of sky-scraper heels!

Budget-wise, I'm open to anything. I've told DH we can't scrimp on my out fir as I don't want to show him up as the best man!!

How about something like this: www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_34519+476350_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7EWomen%7EDresses

Would look great on an hourglass figure, and I think the gathered detail covers any tummy issues?!

Countrybump - that looks great! Fantastic colour for a Christmas wedding and should suit! I agree thatthe ruffles will make me feel less anxious about the belly! It also looks as though it can be taken up an inch or two if it hangs a bit too long on me! Thank you!

Will go straight to Debenhams and try it... more time to find the perfect shoes then!
