Nail varnish that doesn't chip

That's it really.
I like dark colours, two coats, never really last more than 2 days without chipping.

And do I really need a base coat and top coat? Life is too short...

Cheers

Base coat makes it easier to take it off and not have stained nails.

Top coat - I don't see how that would pretect it any more than another coat of the colour.

Nail varnish that doesn't chip - doesn't exist.

Rimmel Pro is not bad (at the cheaper end of the market)

Nails Inc with base and top coat always does well for me. Lots of dark colours.

I feel your pain, OP. I am deeply saddened, nay devastated, that Chanel seems to be the worst offender when it comes to nail varnish which chips within hours Angry

Having tried YSL, Chanel etc etc, I have found that No.7's longwearing one (it's called Everalasting or some other such 'does what it says on the tin' name - I'm too lazy busy to get off my backside to check Grin) is by far the best. They have some great dark colours too - Betty Blues is my current favourite. Grin

As far as base coat goes, I never bother. So that'll be why my nails look like I smoke 100 fags a day by Spring!

Get Gelascious/biogel/ or shellac nail colour and they will last a couple of weeks at least, Normal nail varnish cracks off my nails in a couple of days

OPI seems to chip least in my vast collection of nail varnishes, but a strong top coat does make a difference; Seche Vite's the best. OPI/SV on my pedicure lasts weeks and weeks, and at least a week on my nails. YMMV with base coat, but it can stop dark colours staining your nails.

Try eBay for both - much cheaper than shops or QVC.

I don't bother with fingernails, but my pedis last for weeks, ie until I have to get the whole thing off with remover becasue it's growing out at the bottom and looks weird! And I'm talking about beaches, pools, barefeet, cycling etc, not lounging around.

And the reason is - thick coat of underlay, 2 coats of ANYTHING coloured, any make, whatever colour, and 2 topcoats.

There is no shortcut.

But if one of my pedis takes twice as long as yours to do in the first place, I bet it lasts 3 or 4 or 5 times as long, so I waste less time on average putting the stuff on.
